Ear • Having many ears: (1) The dreamer rejects right and justice. (2) Good dream for a person who wishes to have someone who obeys him, like the wife, the children, and the bondsmen. (3) Bad dream for the underdog, meaning that he will perpetually listen and obey. (4) Will be convicted and hear the sentence. (5) Will triumph over opponents, if any. • A rich person seeing plenty of beautifully assorted ears: Will hear good news, which will make him feel merry. Twisting a rope If the twisting of the rope or the thread is easy in the dream, it means that one's endeavor is free from constraint. If one sees himself plucking the hair of his beard and twisting it like a rope in a dream, it means that he will receive a bribe to make a false testimony in court. Twisting a rope or a thread in a dream also could mean signing a contract, establishing a partnership in a business, or signing a marriage contract. Ant • Seeing ants carrying food and entering the dreamer’s house: Welfare will increase. The reverse is also true. • Ants coming out of the dreamer’s nose, ear, or other holes: (1) If the dreamer is happy to see them getting out, he will die as a martyr. (2) If he resents the feat, dangers are lying ahead. • Ants entering a country or a village: Soldiers will intrude. The reverse is also true. • Ants escaping from a town or a house: Thieves will make it with their booty. • A multitude of ants in a city or village: The population is large. Moon The moon symbolizes the emperor, the supreme commander, or a person as influential as the former. The stars around it are his soldiers, the Pleiades are his houses or his wives and slave girls. It could also refer to the knowledgeable man, the scholar or all sorts of guides, evidence, references, and indications, for it lights people’s way in the darkness, especially during the last three nights in the Arabic month, which are the darkest. It alludes as well to children, the husband or wife, the master, and the beautiful female, owing to its beauty, particularly when it is full. Likewise, the moon alludes to whatever increases and decreases, because this, in fact, is what happens to it regularly when it starts as a crescent, turns into a full moon, then becomes again like a bracket. The new moon, or crescent, also represents a king, a prince, a commander, a leader, the newborn as it starts appearing from the vagina or as it utters its first cries, the hot bread just coming from the oven, a person reappearing after a long absence, the muath-then, or the one who cries for prayers, as he appears in his minaret, the orator at the podium, et cetera. Solomon's ring (A gift from Allah Almighty; Authority) If a ruler or a rich person sees himself wearing Solomon's ring in a dream, it means that his authority, wealth, lands, travels and all his goals will be successful and grow further. If someone invokes spirits for a living, then wearing Solomon's ring in a dream will make him rich. Seeing or finding Solomon's ring in a dream also means renewing one's term of leadership, or a manifestation of a great confounding wonder that will bewilder everyone. Piss • Pissing juice: The dreamer will overspend. • Pissing saffron: The dreamer will have a son who will become a nurse. • Pissing blood: The dreamer will marry a divorcee or a prohibited relative without knowing it. • Pissing blood in an unknown garden or irrigating it with water not from the sea: The dreamer will make love to a lady. Bull The bull symbolizes the lad or workman, because it is a working animal. It also refers to a Bedouin or a farmer who tills the land; a revolutionary, as it turns the earth upside down by scratching and digging with its hooves (the Arabic word for bull being thawr and for revolution thawrah); a helper, a slave, a servant, or a brother, as it is of great use to the farmer in tilling the land and to the Bedouin for various purposes; or fecundity and sex, in view of its well-known nature. Bulls also symbolize foreigners. One to thirteen bulls signify animosity, more than fourteen war. • A bull with big horns: An active person, a real worker full of strength, ardour, and authority, a rich and armed man (in view of the horns, which are terrible weapons). • A hornless bull: A feeble and despicable man, the kind of person unable to earn his daily bread, a poor chief, or a pariah. • A lady owning or taming a bull: Will get married, control her husband, or marry two of her daughters. Tree • Seeing in a house an unknown tree of the type representing women: A fire will be lit in that house in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “Who hath appointed for you fire from the green tree, and behold! ye kindle from it. (“Ya-Sin,” verse 80.) • Seeing an unknown tree in a house: A possible fight or quarrel, in view of a Quranic verse: “But nay, by thy Lord, they will not believe [in truth] until they make thee judge of what is in dispute (Arabic: shagara) between them …” (“Al-Nisae” [Women], verse 65.) • Picking fruit from a tree while seated: Money will come without effort. Civet (Castor; Civet cat; A fatty substance with a musk like scent which is secreted by a gland near the genitals of a civet, a deer or a beaver. This substance is also used in making perfumes.) In a dream, a civet represents honorable profits or valuable properties, botanical gardens, a school from which one can acquire knowledge and draw benefits, or a business from which one can make profits, or it could mean a profitable leather trade. If one prepares the civet on fire in the dream, it means that he is preparing amber perfume, musk or aloe perfume that is extracted from an aromatic heartwood of the mezereum tree family. Hell • An angel having grabbed the dreamer and thrown him in the Fire: Must make some charity. • Seeing Hell from a near distance: (1) A warning to abstain from and repent for a sin the dreamer is committing. (2) The dreamer will fall into trouble from which he will not escape in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “And the guilty behold the Fire and know that they are about to fall therein, and they find no way of escape thence.” (“Al-Kahf [The Cave], verse 53.) (3) Will sustain catastrophic losses in view of the Quranic verse: “And who say: Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of Hell; lo! the doom thereof is a fine.” (“Al-Furqan” [The Criterion], verse 65.) Sky • Falling from the sky: The dreamer will become an atheist. The sky opening to give way to an old man: A reference to the perseverance of the local people who will reap the fruit of their activities. • The sky opening and a young man coming out of it: An enemy who will harm the people of the area or sow the seeds of dissension. • Sheep coming from the sky: A booty (for etymological reasons, the two words in Arabic being ghanam and ghanima, respectively). • A lion emerging from the sky: The people will be plagued with a wicked tyrant. • Stealing the sky and hiding it in ajar: The dreamer will steal a mus haf, or Holy Quran book, and give it to his wife. • Circling in the sky, then coming down: The dreamer will learn astronomy and occult sciences and make a name for himself. Spear The spear symbolizes influence, an acquisition, a wrong move or a fault, a woman, a son, a brother, a friend ready to defend the dreamer, a truthful testimony, or a journey. A spear without iron represents a daughter who will have as many blessings as there are dents in it. • A king or chief seeing his spear growing excessively: Will be unjust to his subjects. • Fighting the enemies with a spear: Will make illicit gains. • Being mounted on a horse or a camel and holding a spear: Dignity, influence, authority, and prosperity. • Holding a spear and walking in the marketplace or simply holding it: Will have a male child. Grape • Dreaming of black grapes: Flogging or lashes as much as there were seeds in the grapes. • Picking a bunch of black grapes from a tree: Wife will give birth to a boy fathered by a black bondsman. • Picking a bunch of grapes: The dreamer will take his wife’s savings. • Pressing grape to obtain juice and turning the latter into wine: The dreamer will win the favours of the chief, along with unblessed money, in view of the story of the Prophet Yusuf as related in the Holy Quran: “And two young men went to prison with him. One of them said: I dreamed that I was pressing wine. The other said: I dreamed that I was carrying upon my head bread whereof the birds were eating. Announce unto us the interpretation, for we see thee of those good [at interpretation]. He said: The food which ye are given [daily] shall not come unto you but I shall tell you the interpretation ere it cometh unto you. This is of that which my Lord hath taught me … O my fellow-prisoners! As for one of you, he will pour out wine for his lord to drink; and as for the other, he will be crucified so that the birds will eat from his head. Strand of hair If she sees her hair thick in the dream, it means that she will do something that will make her famous. If people see her thick strand of hair, it means that she will be exposed for something wrong she has committed. Black hair represents a respected and a handsome looking husband. If the woman sees herself without a head cover in a dream, it means that her husband has left her and he will not return back to her. If she is not married, it means that she will never marry. Slaughter Slaughter means: (1) Repudiation of one’s parents. (2) Injustice. • Seeing a slain person without knowing who killed him: The dreamer has come out with a heresy or made a false testimony. • Slaughtering one’s father, mother, or son: The dreamer will either repudiate or attack one of them. • Slaughtering a woman: The dreamer will have sex with her. • Slaughtering a female animal: The dreamer will make love to a woman and deflower a virgin. • Slaughtering a male animal by attacking it from behind: The dreamer will sodomize such an animal. • Slaughtering one’s father, mother, or son: The dreamer will either repudiate or attack one of them. Handshake • Shaking hands with and embracing an enemy: Cordiality will replace hostility, as the Holy Prophet said that handshaking increases cordiality. • An enemy coming to shake hands or greet the dreamer: He is seeking reconciliation. • Shaking hands with someone with whom there is no hostility: The dreamer will come to his rescue. In case there is a feud, the latter will win over. • Shaking hands with a sheikh or old man the dreamer knows: The dreamer will marry or make love to a beautiful woman and eat all sorts of fruits, in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “They and their wives, in pleasant shade, on thrones reclining; theirs the fruits and theirs (all) that they ask….” (“Ya-Sin,” verses 55–57.) Torah Reciting the Torah but not recognizing what it is in a dream means that one may become a fatalist. To own a copy of the Torah for a king or ruler in a dream means that he will conquer a land or make peace with its people on his terms. If he is learned in real life, it means that either his knowledge will increase or that he will invent what is not ordained, or he may tend to lean toward jovial company. Seeing the Torah in a dream also means finding what is lost, welcoming a long awaited traveller, or it could represent someone who follows the Jewish faith. As for an unmarried person, owning a Torah in a dream means getting married to a woman from a different religion, or it could mean marrying a woman without her parents consent. Rope If the rope is made from wool in the dream, then it represents a religious person. Twisting a rope in a dream means going on a trip. Twisting it around one's own neck in the dream means getting married. Throwing it over one's shoulders in the dream means an important appointment resulting from a business trip. Twisting one's beard to make a rope out of it in a dream means perjury, receiving a bribe and giving a false testimony. Twisting a rope, making one, or measuring it in a dream means travels. Turtle In a dream, a turtle represents a woman who likes to adorn herself and to make herself noticeable to please men. A turtle in a dream is also interpreted as a man of knowledge, or a chief justice, because she is most knowledgeable and Allah fearing amongst the sea creatures. In a dream, a turtle therefore could represent a devout worshipper who reads the scrolls of Allah's prophet Abraham, Alayhi-Salam, or any of the holy scriptures. Seeing a pet turtle in a house or a town in a dream means that the people of knowledge in that locality are well respected. Statue If one sees himself worshiping a statue in a dream, it means that he is engaged in falsehood, giving preference to his personal desires and passions over obeying his Lord's commands. If one sees himself worshiping a golden statue in a dream, it means that he will solicit business from someone who worships Allah Almighty, though he will also suffer losses from such an association. It also means that he will lose his investment and it will show the weakness of his faith. If one sees himself worshiping a statue made of silver in the dream, it means that he uses his religion to make business out of it, or to betray others through it, or that he will solicit the help of someone to do evil, or that he may sexually abuse a young girl who trusts his religious appearance.
