Lips If the lower lip is missing in the dream, then it represents a dying wife. If the upper lip is split in one's dream, it denotes double the effects concerning the person who is understood to be meant in the dream. If the lower lip is split or chapped in the dream, it means conducting a secret relationship with two women. If it is the upper lip, it means having two friends. If his chapped lips heal in the dream, then it means reconciliation between two friends, or winning their consent regarding one's opinion or decision. Hyacinth It is said that any flower from the lily family may represent death when presented to a sick person in a dream. A healthy hyacinth plant in the ground means a beautiful son, or good words. A garland of hyacinth flowers in a dream means honor. A hyacinth flower salesman in a dream represents a worrisome person, for such flowers do not remain long in his possession. If any of the flowers of the lily family are cut, or made into a bouquet in the dream, then they mean sorrow, and if they are seen on their mother plant, they mean happiness, a husband or a son. Vein The veins, arteries, or blood vessels symbolize the dreamer’s family. Whatever happens to them in a dream applies to the latter. The word erq, vein in Arabic, is a homonym for an ethnic group. Eye • One’s eye becoming dim: The dreamer is eyeing a friendly woman indecently. • Having weak eyesight: (1) The dreamer needs people’s help and is going adrift. (2) The dreamer’s children will be ill. • The eyes falling on one’s knees: Death of a brother and a son or any two other dear persons. • Seeing a slave girl (the word in Arabic meaning “A running one”) or a couple of eyes flying rapidly in the sky: Will make money from business or a craft. Quince The quince itself is disliked by most dream interpreters, who regard it as a sign of disease in view of its color and because it looks as if it were gripped. Some say that it refers to a trip, owing to the etymology of the word. (The Arabic name is safarjal and safar means “travel.”) But it could be a successful or an unsuccessful journey. Cupped If a person sees himself being cupped it means he will be compelled to fulfill certain conditions in an agreement or contract. Or if a person sees himself being made to agree on certain conditions, it means he will get cupped. The reason being that in Arabic the word shart (condition) is sometimes used to mean “cupping”. Coffin Or Ark Among other things, the coffin symbolizes a man’s wife or shop. The better it looks, the better they would look. • Being carried in a coffin: A high post or promotion inasmuch as the coffin was carried high or a successful sea or land journey. (The Arabic word for coffin is naash, coming from naasha, to lift up, revive.) • Seeing a new coffin: Prestige and prosperity. • Being in a coffin: Will have plenty of money. Angel • An angel telling the dreamer that he will have a son: He will be blessed with a son enjoying knowledge and contentment, in view of the following Quranic verses: “ (And remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah grive thee glad tidings of a word from Him …” (“Al-Imran” [The Family of Imran], verse 45); and “He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son.” (“Maryam” [Mary], verse 19.) Speaking The speech of inanimate objects in a dream always means good, provides a lesson or gives advice. Animal talk in a dream also represents punishment and suffering. The talk of one's limbs in a dream means trouble from one's relatives, or it could mean committing a sin. The speech of moving shadows in a dream means evoking jinn or evil spirits. Being possessed by such spirits and speaking on their behalf in a dream signifies temptation, trouble, corruption and evil. Any words that agree with Allah's revelations in a dream must be hearkened to and complied with. The opposite is also true. Truth Recognizing the truth through seeing a light or hearing the admonition of the holy Quran in a dream means walking on the straight path and abstaining from falsehood or from mixing with its people. Visiting holy sites Visiting the grave of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, in a dream means obedience to one's parents, being true to them, seeking their love, blessings and pleasure with sincerity and trueness with one's words and actions. Visiting holy sites in a dream also means seeking knowledge and wisdom, having love for charitable people, associating with good people, seeking to learn one's religion at the hand of a pious teacher, to receive blessings and benefits in this life and in the next. Money exchanger A money exchanger in a dream also represents a religious doctor or a scholar who takes religious questions and interprets their definitions. He also could be a dream interpreter who measures everything he takes in and gives an appropriate answer. He takes a pearl necklace for a price and gives words in return, or he takes scattered words and gives a beautiful pearl necklace in exchange. If one who is experiencing difficulties in wakefulness changes some money in a dream, it means that his difficulties will diminish. If one buys gold coins and gives silver money in exchange in a dream, it means reparation, financial obligations or liability. Seeing a money exchanger in a dream also represents wealth, or quick richness from suspicious sources, or he could represent an accountant, a bookkeeper, or a ledger keeper. Hand • Putting a hand under the armpit and drawing it back to find water in it: Will have money. • Having an extra hand: (1) More influence and strength. (2) Will have a brother.
