Mercury (Quicksilver) In a dream, mercury means a project, or an intention that will not be brought to completion. If one sees himself giving mercury to someone, or if he holds it in his hand in a dream, it means that he fails his promises. It also means that he disinclines in his religious practices, follows his own mind and desire, or it could mean that he is a hoax, a betraying person, or a treacherous person. Bathroom According to Imam Jaafar Al-Sadeq (see biography at the beginning of this book), the bathroom could symbolize seven things: (1) The patriarch of the family. (2) A valuable woman. (3) Troubles and unhappiness. (4) A debt. (5) Delay or obstacles. (6) Confirmation or a seal. (7) A loan. For other interpreters, including Ibn Siren and Al-Kirmani:

Garments, Burning If a person sees his clothes or part of his body on fir it implies that he will encounter some crises relating to his clothes or body. (This will be discussed in great detail in this book). If such a fire constitutes tongues of falme rising upwards it means harm will come to him from the king or uler. Tooth • Teeth falling and picking them up with one’s hand or beard: The dreamer’s children will break with him; no more children will be born, and if ever one is born he will not stay to be brought up by the dreamer.
• All the teeth falling and disappearing from the dreamer’s sight: (1) His family or his household will die before him. (2) People of his generation or of the same age will die.
• People chewing the dreamer’s flesh or biting him with their teeth: The dreamer should be modest, which he is not.

Minbar If one is seen standing on a pulpit and if he does not speak or deliver a sermon, or if what he says denotes evil in the dream, it means that he will be unjustly executed, or it could mean that Allah Almighty will protect him against such injustice. The pulpit in a dream also means rulership and subduing one's enemy. Rising on a pulpit in a dream also could mean a betrothal or proposing a marriage. Otherwise, it could mean a scandal. If a ruler stands on a pulpit in a dream, it represents the continuity of his reign. Stone Stones of a structure or on the ground symbolize the dead, the ignorant, the idle, and the atheists. Arab wise men used to describe the people of the pre-Islamic era as stones.
• Turning into stone: Will disobey God and lose faith, have a stone heart, or become crippled.
• Seizing, buying, or standing on stones: Will triumph over a man or marry a woman showing similarities to such a stone.
• Stones falling from the sky: Calamities brought about by a tyrant. Removing stones or mountains: Is attempting something difficult.
• Hitting a stone with a stick to see water coming out of it: Will get rich. If already wealthy, will become richer. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Letter If one receives a letter containing glad tidings in a dream, it means appeasing his condition, and calming his fears, whether it is bearing a son, or getting married. If one repulses the messenger or letter carrier in a dream, it means renouncing one's religion, or dropping one's profession, or it could mean innovation, or that he maybe murdered. Incident - a pot filled with Milk and a pot filled with Honey A man came to Imam Ibn Sirin and said: "I saw a pot filled with milk, then someone brought a second pot of the same size which was filled with honey. He then poured the honey into the milk, and miraculously, the first pot contained both of them without any spillage. Further on, he poured some foamy substance on the top, and I sat with some friends eating and skimming the foamy substance first. Suddenly, the contents of the pot turned into a head of a camel, and we kept on eating from it." Ibn Sirin replied: "What a wretched dream you had! The milk represents inherent purity. Banana (Money) In a dream, a banana means money, savings, a fetus, a man in his grave, a prisoner in his jail, a closed book, news from the past, or it could mean inner knowledge. In a dream, a banana also signifies clothing, love, tenderness, a generous man, a monotheist, or it could represent a person of good conduct. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Being Given Victory Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said, "I have been given the keys of eloquent speech and given victory with awe (cast into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping last night, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me till they were put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) left (this world) and now you people are carrying those treasures from place to place. (Bukhari) Dream Interpreter: Imam Bukhari
Resurrection (Day of Reckoning; Day of Resurrection; Last Day; Reckoning; Rising of the dead; Trumpet of Resurrection) Seeing the Day of Resurrection, or Doomsday in a dream is a serious warning for a sinner, or it could represent a warning for someone who is contemplating a sinful act. Seeing the Day of Resurrection in a dream also denotes justice. Being the only person resurrected on such a day means one's death. Standing up awaiting one's judgement on the Day of Resurrection in a dream means travels. If one sees himself and his wife being the only people who are brought for judgement of the grand Day of Gathering in a dream, it means that he is being unjust. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Disease Disease always applies to weak or erroneous religious faith. It means that the dreamer is not discharging his religious duties regularly or trying to show his obedience to God. A disease coupled with fever—a warm or hot disease—means worries to be brought about by the ruler. A dry disease means that the dreamer is overspending in a way inconsistent with the injunctions of the Almighty or that he is contracting debts left and right, or misusing funds entrusted to him and that he will fail to restore—which will draw him a punishment. Quranic verses Reading or listening to Quranic verses in a dream may carry needed interpretations related to one's current studies of Allah's holy Book. If they indicate verses of mercy in the dream, it means that he will receive it, and if they carry admonition in the dream, and unless one immediately repents, they mean a punishment for one's sins. Piss • Pissing sand or mud: The dreamer performs his ablutions neither properly nor regularly.
• Pissing fire: (1) The dreamer will have a powerful son. (2) The dreamer will have a son who will become a thief.
• Pissing a lion: The dreamer will have an unjust son.
• Pissing worms: The dreamer will be prolific.
• Pissing a snake: The dreamer will have a son who will turn hostile to him.
• Pissing a she-cat: The dreamer will have a girl by an Oriental woman born in a coastal area.

Papers (Books; Credentials; Letter; Newspaper; Records; Revelations; Scrolls; Studies) Papers in a dream represent witnesses, guidance, spiritual leaders, knowledge, warnings, or glad tidings. Holding papers in a dream means glad tidings and celebration. If a woman hands someone a piece of paper in a dream, then one may expect good news to arrive from one moment to another. If the woman who hands him the paper covers herself with a veil in the dream, it means that he should be careful. Carrying a folded piece of paper in a dream means that one may have an accident that could be the cause of his death. If one sees himself carrying a paper in his left hand in a dream, it means that he regrets something he did. Pebbles In a dream, pebbles represent men, women, little children, or counted money. They also mean memorizing a book of knowledge, understanding it, knowing it by heart, or writing poems. They also mean performing one's pilgrimage to Mecca and pelting stones in the valley of Mina at a placed called Jamarat. Pelting stones in a dream also means harshness, toughness, slander, or youth. Ali Ibn Abi Taleb • An Ulema, or Muslim religious scholar or erudite, seeing Ali: Will acquire further knowledge, prestige, and power over his equals. The dreamer should be careful as not to be taken captive, deported, or relocated. Seeing Ali in a warlike mood in a Muslim city: Civil strife or a very strong polemic.
• Seeing Ali in a place where there are great or old people: They will all be destroyed.
• Seeing Ali, his hands deeply tinged: The children of the dreamer will have the upper hand in a dispute with him.
• Seeing Ali with a wound in his body: The dreamer is being stabbed or strongly contested and will be brought down or subdued.
• Ali taking out the sword: The dreamer is asking his children to become chiefs and to fight for it. Seeing Ali in a fight means that those children will triumph. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Reckoning (Day of Reckoning; Doomsday; Resurrection) Seeing the reckoning of a deceased person in a dream denotes his sufferings in the hereafter. If a traveller is asked to account for his travel expenses, and if he is treated with kindness during the reading of his report in the dream, it means profits from his journey and a safe return to his homeland. If one reckons himself in a dream, it means that he will repent for his sins. If one is brought for judgment on the day of reckoning, and if his questioning is made easy in the dream, it means that Allah has blessed him to marry a pious wife who has love and compassion for him, and who cares about his interests. Grill • The one who grills meat: (1) A tutor or educator of young princes, free children, and young girls or female slaves. He teaches them a profession or a craft. (2) A surgeon. (3) A troublemaker and an antagonist. (4) A torturer using wooden, iron, and other infernal devices. (5) A looter. (6) One who takes people’s lives. (7) The one who captures girls and women as war booty.
• Going to the cook of grilled meat to buy a well-done steak or the like: The dreamer will hand over his son to a tutor to teach and educate him.
• Buying grilled meat for a sum of money: Will hire a boy or a girl brought up by a man of letters or a shrewd merchant, who will obey and act according to the dreamer’s will. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
