Camel • A camel entering the dreamer’s mouth or any part of his body: Will be possessed by a demon. • A camel dying in a house: The sick father of the family or the dreamer’s chief or son (if ill) will die. The camel’s flesh falling apart and its bones being scattered represent a heritage. • A slaughtered camel: Injustice. • Slaughtering a camel to eat it in a house where no one is ill: (1) Will open a store. Jew • Being a Jew means the dreamer will fail to perform the Muslim rites and, therefore, be punished by God while still alive and experience humiliation because, says Ibn Siren, those Jews who had committed an aggression by fishing on a Saturday (Sabbath day), thus transgressing the injunctions of God, were turned into apes. The story is narrated in chapter VII of the Holy Quran, titled “Al-Aaraf’ (The Heights), verses 163–67.34 • Being called a Jew and resenting that appellation while wearing white clothes means the dreamer is facing hardships and expecting compassion from God and relief from worries. Butterfly A silkworm in a dream represents the best of people who spend in charity from their best and who curtail their evil, or it could represent children who live a short life in this world, or people who leave a sizeable estate for their posterity. Necromancy • A man dreaming of someone dreaming of him that he is having sex with his mother, sister, brother, or similar prohibited relations, seen as dead in the dream: He is not sustaining them as he should, but will change his attitude and be fair to them. It could also mean trouble or worries or, on the contrary, benefit to both parties. If they are alive, it means the reverse and that he does not have much affection for them. In case, according to his dream, the act took place during the Muslims sacred months, he would go to Mecca (Makkah) for the pilgrimage. • An identified dead person making love to a living one: The latter will get some benefit from a bequest of the heirs of the former, be it material or otherwise. Ear The ear symbolizes the man’s wife or daughter. It also represents religion. • Having three ears: The dreamer has a wife and two daughters. • Having four ears: (1) The dreamer has four women. (2) He has four girls without a mother. • Having one ear: No relative will stay alive. • Having half an ear: Wife will die and the dreamer will remarry. • One ear having fallen: (1) Will divorce. (2) A daughter will die. • Wearing an earring: Will marry one’s daughter to someone, and she will give birth to a male child. • Filling or obstructing one’s ears with something: The dreamer is an atheist. Mountain In a dream, a mountain that stands high is alive, but a crumbling mountain which has turned into a pile of rocks is dead. If a person sees himself climbing an erect mountain, eating from its plants and drinking from its water, and if he qualifies to govern, it means that he will be appointed to a governing post under the auspices of a stringent ruler, though his subjects do receive benefits from his government. Thunderbolt Thunderbolts in a dream are signs of punishment, illness or death. If a thunderbolt hits and burns something in the dream, it means false rumours, damages, financial losses, recession, or dumping of merchandise. A thunderbolt in a dream also means a warning for a sinner, the punishment for his crime, devastation, calamities, diseases, tornados, plagues, a blast, a major political shift, tyranny, decapitation, a bad death, incineration, burning people alive, or a robbery. Incident - a king trying to Annihilate the Muslims The Alim said to the king that he would interpret the dream only if he guaranteed their safety which he did. The learned Alim interpreted the dream thus; “O king, I see no wisdom in your wanting to kill the Muslims and marching on them for this purpose. Please do not deploy your army for they will not return to you alive. They will be defeated and destroyed. And do not for one moment think that I give this interpretation because I am a Muslim”. The king asked him for proof to which he replied that the Holy Book of Allah was the source for his proof. Slave • Seeing a slave man: Worries. • A free man dreaming that he has become a slave: (1) Will become the slave of his own philanthropy, charity, and virtue, a slave of the Almighty, observing all religious tenets promoting virtue and dissuading people from committing any vice. (2) Will become the slave of his own passion and vice. (3) Will contract debts to the extent of becoming the slave of his creditor (s). (4) Will hire yourself out. (5) Will be enslaved by a disease. Crucifixion • Being crucified alive: Dignity, honour, and religious righteousness. • Being crucified and dead: Prestige coupled with corrupt religious faith. • Being crucified and killed or after being killed: Prestige, but the dreamer will be lied to. • Being crucified without remembering when that happened: (1) Lost money will come back. (2) If the dreamer is poor, will get rich. (3) Bad omen for the rich (according to some interpreters). (4) Poverty, because a person is crucified naked. Uthman One who sees Uthman, Allah be pleased with him, in a dream will become a scholar. If one sees him doing business in a dream, it means that one is seeking worldly profits, though he likes to adorn himself with a religious garb and titles but lacks true piety. If one sees him besieged inside his own house in a dream, it means that he will persecute and oppress a great scholar or a man of Allah. Leech (Bloodsucker; Sponger) In a dream, a leech represents the grave's worms that eat one's flesh, or it could denote one's own children. Thirst (Desire; Dryness) In a dream, thirst represents stagnation of businesses, dullness of the real estate market and unsalability of farm products. Thirst in a dream also means poverty, slump, recession, or yearning for a beloved, desiring to be with him and missing him. Thirst in a dream also could represent religious corruption. Pavilion (Army; Canopy; Large tent) In a dream, a pavilion represents someone in command. Seeing a pavilion in a dream also means conquering one's enemy. A canopy in a dream represents someone who has less authority than the commander, a dome represents someone of a lower rank, and a tent in a dream means less than a dome. If a commander is seen leaving his pavilion in a dream, it means that he will lose some of his authority, or that he may die shortly. Unknown pavilions of either green or white colors in a dream mean healing, endowments, gifts, martyrdom, visiting the graves of righteous people, or a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Pearl Drilling a hole in a pearl in a dream also means having sexual intercourse with a blood relation. Swallowing a pearl in a dream means hiding a testimony. Chewing on pearls in a dream means backbiting people. Vomiting pearls in a dream means scheming against people and deceiving them. Throwing a pearl into a river in a dream means helping people. Extracting a pearl from its shell, then throwing the pearl and keeping the shell in a dream means that one is involved in body snatching and in desecrating the graves. Pregnancy Pregnancy in a dream also means being madly in love, or having passionate attachment to someone, or planting seeds in the wrong place, or being bisexual or a deviate, or suffering from dropsy, or perhaps it could mean that a thief will enter his house to steal something, or to hide a stolen object, or that one may steal something and hide it from its true owner, or that he may get sick from eating spoiled food, or it could mean that he may bury a dear person, or that he is affected and a liar, or he may hide his real beliefs and show a better standing in public, or it may represent an accident or a fire. Stocking (Sock) In a dream, stockings represent wealth and prevention, as long as they are not worn. Once seen worn in a dream, they mean business losses. If one's mother is alive, it means that he will migrate with her to another country, or it could mean that she will be deprived of her son. If the socks are new and have a clean smell in the dream, it means that one regularly pays his due alms, that he is praised for his character and that his money will grow in a lawful way. If his socks are old or emit bad odors in the dream, it means that he withholds paying the obligatory alms tax, that he is uncharitable, worthy of blame and that his wealth will quickly disappear. Surgery Surgery in a dream represents the real limb which is operated on in one's dream. If a young man or a young woman see themselves having an operation where their chest is opened, or having an open heart surgery for example in a dream, it means that they are in love.
