Honey And Butter Coming From The Sky It is reported either on the authority of Ibn Abbas or on the authority of Abu Huraira that a person came to Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) and said: Allah's Messenger, I saw while I was sleeping during the night (this vision) that there was a canopy from which butter and honey were trickling and I also saw people collecting them in the palms of their hands, some more, some less, and I also saw a rope connecting the earth with the sky and I saw you catching hold of it and rising towards the heaven; then another person after you catching hold of it and rising towards (Heaven) ; then another person catching hold of it, but it was broken while it was rejoined for him and he also climbed up. Abu Bakr said: Allah's Messenger, may my father be sacrificed for you, by Allah, allow me to interpret it. Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said: Well, give its interpretation. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: The canopy signifies the canopy of Islam and that what trickles out of it in the form of butter and honey is the Holy Qur'an and its sweetness and softness and what the people get hold of it in their palms implies major portion of the Qur'an or the small portion; and so far as the rope joining the sky with the earth is concerned, it is the Truth by which you stood (in the worldly life) and by which Allah would raise you (to Heaven). Then the person after you would take hold of it and he would also climb up with the help of it. Then another person would take hold of it and climb up with the help of it. Then another person would take hold of it and it would be broken; then it would be rejoined for him and he would climb up with the help of it. Allah's Messenger, may my father be taken as a ransom for you, tell me whether I have interpreted it currectly or I have made an error. Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said: You have interpreted a part of it correctly and you have erred in interpreting a part of it. Archangel Gabriel The archangel Gabriel in a dream also represents the messenger of the king, the confidant, the carrier of glad tidings or the person who announces the birth of a son. Seeing him in a dream also indicates increase in one's devotion, learning and acquiring in-depth knowledge of mystical realities. Seeing him (Alayhi-Salam) in a dream also signifies the smooth rising of the soul after death for someone who is dying. The archangel Gabriel in a dream also represents a movement, struggle, triumph and understanding the meanings of religious knowledge or learning the secrets of astrology. If one sees the archangel Gabriel distressed in a dream, it means that a calamity will befall the person seeing the dream. Well If the water gushes forth, rises and runs outside of an old well in the dream, it represents crying and grief in that place. Digging a well and finding water to channel for one's garden in a dream means taking an herbal remedy to cure one's impotence, or to save his marriage. Falling into a well of muddy waters in a dream means that one may become subject to the tyranny of an unjust ruler. If the water he falls into is clear in the dream, it means that he will willingly work to serve a righteous man and for a nominal wage. Falling into a well in a dream also means demotion, or it could mean travels. Sitting at the edge of a well in a dream means dealing with a deceiving person. A collapsed well in a dream represents a dying woman. Reaching a well which is dug for the general public to draw from its water means getting relief after suffering from difficulties. If one sees the prophet Zachariah in a dream, it means that Allah Almighty will restore fertility to him and to his wife at an advanced age. Seeing him (Alayhi-Salam) in a dream also could denote a time of rising prices, drought, loss of one's family, or suffering from people's stratagem, entering a prison, then be released by Allah's grace. It also denotes one's luck with women and adversities related to one's beauty and good character. Ants They also represent the person seeing the dream or members of his family or relatives. Understanding the language of ants in a dream means sovereignty, leadership and prosperity. If one sees ants entering his house and carrying food in a dream, it means prosperity in that family. If one sees ants leaving his house and carrying food with them in a dream, it means poverty. Seeing ants coming out of one's nostrils, ears, mouth or any part of his body and rejoicing at that sight in the dream means martyrdom. Bread If it is a loaf of barley bread in the dream, it means a strenuous life, though well managed. Corn bread, chick peas bread or millet bread means tight financial conditions and rising prices. If one is given a piece of dried bread in a dream, it indicates the near end of his life. A loaf of bread in a dream means marriage for an unwed person, and for a craftsman, it means progress in his trade. As for a ruler or a judge, a well baked loaf of bread in a dream represents his justice. Small loaves of bread in a dream represent a short life, while large loaves mean longevity. Jihad, Religious War, Or Muslim Struggle • Going to Jihad: Will triumph, obtain people’s gratitude, and be praised and dignified in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “Those of the believers who sit still, other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, are not on an equal footing with those who strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah hath conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Lips If the lower lip is missing in the dream, then it represents a dying wife. If the upper lip is split in one's dream, it denotes double the effects concerning the person who is understood to be meant in the dream. If the lower lip is split or chapped in the dream, it means conducting a secret relationship with two women. If it is the upper lip, it means having two friends. If his chapped lips heal in the dream, then it means reconciliation between two friends, or winning their consent regarding one's opinion or decision. If one's upper lip is cut off in a dream, it means severing relationship with a close friend. Lips in a dream also denote relatives or kinship. Ishaq (Also known as John in Western traditions. Allah's prophet Ishaq, son of the prophet Jacob, upon both of them be peace.) In a dream, seeing him indicates adversities and hardships. If one has a son who ran away in disobedience to his father, and if he sees Allah's prophet Ishaq in a dream, it means that he will return to his home and be obedient again. This dream also indicates a surge of glad tidings, peace and tranquillity. Seeing Ishaq (Alayhi-Salam) in a dream also means suffering from persecution by the senators of one's town, or from some of his relatives, and finally Allah Almighty will come to his help, and grant him back his integrity and honor. Prophet A prophet in a dream also represents a religious scholar, because religious scholars are the heirs of the prophets, upon all of them be peace. Religious scholars also know Allah's prophets better than the common people. They understand their message and follow their traditions of glorifying Allah's Oneness, devotion, piety, prayers, charity, acting upon what they know and admonishing others to follow the path of truth and righteousness. A prophet in a dream also represents one's superior, a preacher, a righteous Imam, a conscientious teacher and a caller to Allah Almighty. Seeing any of Allah's prophets looking gracious, stately and courtly in a dream also represents his people's devotion, or that a major and a positive change will take place among his followers. If such a prophet looks spurious, unhappy in a dream, or if he appears in a state that does not befit Allah's prophets, it means that his followers in the world have deviated from his path and created their own religion, opposing his commands, falsifying and interpreting his message to their own liking and abusing his admonition. If one claims to be a prophet in a dream, it means that he will become known in his field, or if he qualifies, he may become a ruler, a judge, a teacher or a caller to Allah Almighty, commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil. Solomon Seeing him (uwhp) in a dream also means trials with women and ingratitude on their part. If the person who sees Allah's prophet Solomon in a dream is a governor, it means that he will be dismissed from his functions, though his authority will be restored later on, or he could through cheating, marry a rich woman. If the one who sees Allah's prophet Solomon Alayhi-Salam in a dream practices sorcery, witchcraft, black magic, or invoking jinn or evil spirits, it means that he will profit from his trade and become wealthy after having lost hope in attaining such benefits, or he could triumph over his enemy. Whoever sees Allah's prophet Solomon (Alayhi-Salam) in his dream will receive Allah's favors, including clear visions, clarity of religious interpretations, the ability to learn many languages, or he could become a translator, or perhaps could master the Arabic language. Abu Bakr and 'Umar In A Dream Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself standing at a well over which there was a bucket. I pulled out from it as many buckets of water as Allah wished, and then Ibn Abi Quhafa (Abu Bakr) took the bucket from me and pulled out one or two full buckets, and there was weakness in his pull--may Allah forgive him. Then the bucket turned into a very large one and 'Umar bin Al-Khattab took it. I have never seen any strong man among the people, drawing water with such strength as 'Umar did, till the people (drank to their satisfaction and) watered their camels to their fill; whereupon the camels sat beside the water." A Rope Coming From The Sky Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: A man came to Allah's Apostle (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) and said, "I saw in a dream, a cloud having shade. Butter and honey were dropping from it and I saw the people gathering it in their hands, some gathering much and some a little. And behold, there was a rope extending from the earth to the sky, and I saw that you (the Prophet) held it and went up, and then another man held it and went up and (after that) another (third) held it and went up, and then after another (fourth) man held it, but it broke and then got connected again." Abu Bakr said, "O Allah's Apostle! Let my father be sacrificed for you! Allow me to interpret this dream." The Prophet said to him, "Interpret it." Abu Bakr said, "The cloud with shade symbolizes Islam, and the butter and honey dropping from it, symbolizes the Quran, its sweetness dropping and some people learning much of the Qur'an and some a little. The rope which is extended from the sky to the earth is the Truth which you (the Prophet) are following. You follow it and Allah will raise you high with it, and then another man will follow it and will rise up with it and another person will follow it and then another man will follow it but it will break and then it will be connected for him and he will rise up with it. O Allah's Apostle! Let my father be sacrificed for you! Am I right or wrong?" The Prophet replied, "You are right in some of it and wrong in some." Abu Bakr said, "O Allah's Prophet! Horse • A horse dying at a person’s hands or in his house: The death of such a person.
• Riding on a white-footed horse with a white fringe and all white harness while dressed as a full-fledged horseman: Will gain power and prestige, merit praise, and live secure from all enemies. A bay, roan, or reddish brown horse would be best if the dreamer were a combatant. The salamander (a color of Arab horses) refers to dignity and disease.
• Riding on a horse and making it run till it sweats: Will be overcome by passion and commit sins to earn your living. It is noteworthy that sweat emanating from running is an expenditure on some sinful matter, in view of the verse of the Holy Quran that reads: “Run (flee) not, but return to the good things of this life which were given you, and to your homes, in order that ye may be called to account. Coercion If one adamantly refuses to obey and resists the coercion of evil people or refuses to be intimidated by evil companions in a dream it represents his faith in Allah Almighty, fear of wrongdoing and making offerings that are pleasing to Allah. Praises Praising Allah Almighty and thanking Him in a dream means receiving benefits and a great reward. It also means finding guidance for one's religious life. Praising Allah Almighty in a dream is also interpreted as begetting one or two sons who will grow to become religious scholars. As for a poor man, praising Allah Almighty in a dream means wealth. If one sees people praising him in a dream, it means that he will live up to it and do good. If he sees them showering him with money in the dream, it means that they are speaking ill of him. Pardon (Absolution; Amnesty; Acquittal) If one forgives someone a sin, or a mistake, or an error in a dream, it means that Allah Almighty will forgive him his sins. Fire Ascending the Skies Fire ascending from a particular place towards the skies is also anominous dream. This means the people of that place have openly declared war with Allah by shamelessly indulging in vice. Moreover, they have leveled allegations and criticism against Allah Taala.
