Bull • Buying an ox: Will conceal the defaults of kind people and brothers by speaking in their favour. • Talking to a bull or being addressed by an ox: Hostility to a man. • A bull falling on an individual or killing him: The death of that person. • Being bitten by a bull: Some ailment will come. • An ox mooing at the dreamer: Will embark on a long journey. • A bull coming out of a small hole and trying to return to it unsuccessfully: A major statement made by a man who tries to withdraw it but is unable to. • Bull skin: Blessings for the owner of the bull. Head • Recovering one’s head, which had fallen without reason: (1) Financial gains. (2) Will recover, if ill. • Replacing one’s severed head and seeing it working: Will be killed in Jihad (holy struggle). • Seeing a head on a metal or wooden spearhead: A reference to a high-ranking official. • Seeing a head in a container stained with blood: A chief is lying to the dreamer. • The neck having been hit with a sword, sending the head reeling on the ground: (1) If ill, will heal. Foot If one's feet turn into led in the dream, it means that he may suffer from paralysis, unless if the dream contains other elements that denote actions which are pleasing to Allah Almighty. If one sees his foot without a covering skin in the dream, it means longevity. In a dream, one's toes represent good deeds. Bier • Plenty of biers put on the ground in a given place: The folk of that place are corrupt and indulging in adultery. • A woman dreaming that she has died and been carried on a bier: Will get married. If already married, will relinquish her religion. • Biers in the souk (marketplace): That market is full of adulterated goods and hypocrisy. • Falling from one’s bier: Will be demoted; business and other interests will be stalled, and prestige will be lost. • A well-known man placed on a bier with nobody approaching or carrying it: The subject of the dream will go to jail. Paradise If one sees himself sitting in the gardens of paradise in a dream, it means that he will be blessed with sincerity and perfect religious adherence. Eating from the fruits of paradise in a dream means acquiring knowledge. Drinking from its rivers of honey and milk in a dream means receiving wisdom, inner knowledge and prosperity. Leaning against a tree in paradise in a dream represents the chastity of one's wife. Picking the fruits of paradise and feeding them to others in a dream means sharing knowledge with others or teaching them. If one is forbidden from having the fruits of paradise in a dream, it denotes his failure to properly attend to his religious duties. Lice Eating a louse in a dream means backbiting someone. A colony of lice in a dream represent punishment. Lice in a dream also represent one's dependents or relatives who backbite, slander and divide the family. An invasion of lice in a dream means blessings, wealth, relief from difficulties, dispelling all worries and sorrows. Killing a louse in a dream means the same in wakefulness. If one wakes up from a dream in which lice were attacking him, it means that he will not escape from depression, difficulties or adversities. Picking up a louse from one's shirt or garment in a dream means hearing lies. If one becomes allergic to lice and starts itching in a dream, it means debts. Beard • The beard reaching the ground: The dreamer will die. • A boy below the age of puberty having a beard: Bad dream. He might die before reaching that age, in view of the element of prematurity, which is always a bad omen. • Taking somebody else’s beard in one’s hand and pulling it: Will inherit the fortune of that man and eat it up. • A slight decrease in the beard: Ease, the settlement of debts and relief. • A considerable decrease in the beard heralds an ordeal and the withering away of money and prestige. • Seeing somebody with an imperial talking to one’s wife: Confusion and a cleavage with beloved ones, because Satan, according to Ibn Siren, had an imperial rather than a full beard when he incited Eve. Rain • The soil “raining up” blood or stones: Sufferings. • Raining mostly blood or dust: Injustice on the part of the ruler. • Raining dust without the latter forming a screen that reduces visibility: Fertility. • Raining swords: Controversies, disputes, and perhaps a civil strife in the area. • Raining watermelons: A disease or an epidemic. • Raining all over the town: The areas inhabitants will be calumniated. • Rain pouring from all sides, uprooting trees and throwing them on the ground: intrigue and death at the hands of the ruler. Stone Stones of a structure or on the ground symbolize the dead, the ignorant, the idle, and the atheists. Arab wise men used to describe the people of the pre-Islamic era as stones. • Turning into stone: Will disobey God and lose faith, have a stone heart, or become crippled. • Seizing, buying, or standing on stones: Will triumph over a man or marry a woman showing similarities to such a stone. • Stones falling from the sky: Calamities brought about by a tyrant. Removing stones or mountains: Is attempting something difficult. • Hitting a stone with a stick to see water coming out of it: Will get rich. If already wealthy, will become richer. Shoe • Shoes with a sole made of lead: A weak and puny woman. • Shoes with fire soles: An authoritarian woman. • Wooden soles: A hypocritical and treacherous woman. • Colored soles: A woman of mixed blood. • Horse leather soles: An Arab woman. • Cow leather soles: A foreign woman. • Lion skin soles: A tyrant of a woman from the ruling class. Corn Sometimes, the ears of corn allude to years, months, or days. Joseph regarded them as years. Likewise, they refer to the wealth of this world. • Planting corn: Will do something that will please God. • Endeavouring to or helping plant corn: A reference to Jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). • Planting corn that gives barley: The dreamer’s appearance is better than his hidden self. And vice versa. • Planting corn that gives blood: The subject is making a living from usury. • Ears of corn gathered in a person’s hand or in a container: Will obtain money earned by somebody else or acquire learning. • Picking scattered spikes from the harvest of someone whom the dreamer knows: Will obtain scattered sums of money from that person. Entering a house If it is customary for such a person to enter that place, then no harm will incur from his coming or going. If one sees himself entering a house of unfamiliar substance, ground or structure, and if he meets departed souls whom he recognizes in the dream, it means that he has entered the realms of the dead. If he sees himself going into that sphere, then coming out of it in the dream, it means that he will near his death, then recover from a serious illness. Moon If the moon disappears in the skies in a dream, it means that one's business has come to a halt, or that something he has asked for will not materialize, whether it be good or evil. If the moon reappears in the dream, it means that one will receive what he is seeking, and again, whether it is good or bad for him. Seeing a bright and a radiant moon in the skies in a dream means justice and prosperity. Seeing the moon inside one's house in a dream means that a guest or a traveller will soon arrive. Grapes (Bunch of grapes) In a dream, a sweet tasting bunch of grapes means receiving benefits through a relative or a close friend. If the grapes taste sour in the dream, then they mean regret. Grapes in a dream also represent money, profits, earnings, a growing capital, savings or a needed capital to support a business venture. Seeing grapes in season in a dream means material gains, and out of season, they mean quick profits or unlawful earnings. Picking a bunch of grapes in a dream means receiving money from a woman. Face If one's face appears white and his body black in a dream, it means that he shows decency and disguises inappropriateness. If a whiskerless person sees hair growing over the sides of his upper lip in a dream, it means that he carries burdening debts, or that he has lost dignity. If one's face looks different or missing some of its clarity or beauty in a dream, it denotes someone who jokes excessively, for immoderate jesting, hilarity or mirth decreases people's respect. Sheep • A ram horning the vagina of a woman: She will cut off her pubic hair, using a pair of scissors. • Seizing a ram’s horn: Will become invincible. • Taking ram wool: Will obtain money from an honest man. • Taking the tail of ram: Will handle the affairs of some noble people, will inherit money, or will marry the daughter of high-class people. • Taking the entrails of a ram: Will seize the safe of an honest man who has something to do with the ram dreamed of. • Ram and ewe grease, milk, skin, and wool: Money and welfare. • Receiving a sacrificial ram: Will have a blessed son. Snot According to Ibn Siren, the mucus from the nose symbolizes the making of children, in view of the popular belief that the cat emanated from the lion’s snot. • Having mucus in the nose: Wife is pregnant. • Blowing one’s nose: (1) Will settle debts. (2) Will be relieved from a certain worry. (3) Will punish some people for a certain deed. • Putting snot on the ground: Will have a daughter. • Putting snots on one’s wife: She will conceive a male child but have a miscarriage. • The wife putting snots on the dreamer: (1) She will give birth to a boy. Face If a scholar sees himself having several faces in a dream, it means that he is utilizing his knowledge in various applications, or giving a subject several possible interpretations. A frowning face, a crying face, a scarred face, or the darkness of one's face in a dream also mean loss of job, fear, or they could represent a liar. If the skin of one's face is cracking in a dream, it denotes lack of modesty or absence of shame. Padlock Breaking a lock and entering a house in a dream represents a conqueror or benefits that will come through such a person. A padlock in a dream also represents a bolt, a door latch, one's son, a handicapped wife, taking shelter away from one's enemy, a hidden treasure, or a burial ground. A padlock in a dream also may denotes sorcery, concealing secrets, or hindrances obstructing one's travel plans. Putting a padlock on one's door in a dream means prosperity after suffering from poverty, or receiving honors after being humiliated. Swine The swine is a huge man, rich, and irreligious, with dubious sources of income, a dirty person with long hands, and a mean and stinking atheist.50 Its flesh or meat, its grease, its hair, its stomach, and its skin are cheap and dirty money. Being a swine herd: Will govern low people of dirty origin. • Owning, finding, or transporting swine: Will obtain dirty money. • Pigs (young and little swine) and sow milk, if the dreamer drinks it.
