A General Rule Pertaining to a Dream with Two Scenes with Opposing Interpretations When two separate things with opposing interpretations are seen in a dream then the stronger or better of the two interpretations will be given. As an example is a person sees a bathroom and himself as removing hair using a lotion or lime-whereas a bathroom represents grief and sorrow and removing hair using a lotion or lime represents the removing of grief and sorrow- it means that his grief and sorrow will be removed, for the dream of removing hair using lime or lotion is regarded as stronger or better. Um Al-'Ala said, "I felt very sorry for that, and then I slept and saw in a dream a flowing spring for 'Uthman bin Maz'un, and told Prophet Muhammad of that, and he said, "That flowing spring symbolizes his good deeds." Incident - Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) seeing Prophet Esa in a dream Abdullah Bin Omar, God be pleased with them both, reported that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, has said: "Last night, I saw myself at the Ka'aba. There I saw a person with a fair skin and a most beautiful appearance circumambulating the Ka'aba. I asked: Who is this man?' A voice replied: "This is Jesus son of Mary.' Then walked an ugly-looking man, whose skin was wrinkled, and who was blind in his right eye. I asked: Who is this man?' A voice replied: 'This is Al-Mas'ih-Dajjal, the impostor of Christ.'" Fasting Dreams about fasting have contradictory interpretations:
• Dreaming of being in the Muslims month of fasting (Ramadan): (1) Higher prices (inflation) and scarcity of foodstuffs. (2) Sound religion, end of worries, recovery from a disease, the settlement of debts.
• Having fasted the entire month of Ramadan: (1) Certainty after doubt. (2) If the dreamer was illiterate, he would memorize the Holy Quran.
• Dreaming of recognizing the utility of fasting and wishing to fast: Quick benefits from an unexpected source.
• Failing to fast during the month of Ramadan: (1) The dreamer is giving way to his instinct and passions. (2) The dreamer will have a blessed journey.
• Dreaming of having deliberately and overtly eaten throughout the month of Ramadan, instead of fasting like other Muslims: (1) The dreamer is disregarding religious rules. (2) The dreamer will commit a premeditated murder. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Arabic months A dream during the eighth lunar month, known in Arabic as Shaaban, represents a dream and ranks, for during this month, every good deed will be honoured. As for the ninth lunar month, known in Arabic as Ramadan, in it, all difficulties will be suspended, evil will be shun and stinginess will be dispelled. During this month all what is good will manifest and bad dream will dissipate to become null and void. During this month, the dreams of a believer may be differently interpreted than the dream of a disbeliever. If one sees the month of Ramadan in his dream, his dream means blessings, profits, commanding good and forbidding evil. If the person is seeking knowledge, then knowledge will be given to him, for it is during this great month that the Holy Means that was revealed. Seeing Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) Abu Hurrairah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said: "In the end of time, the dreams of a believer will hardly ever fail to come true, and the most truthful of them in dreams will be the truest in speech among them. And dreams are three types: The good dreams wihich is glad tidings from Allah, dreams about something that has happened to the man himself, and dreams in which the Shaitan frightens someone. So when one of you sees what he dislikes, then he should get up and perform Salat." Abu Hurairah said: "I like fetters and dislikes, the iron collar. Feast of breaking the fast (arb. Eid-ul Fitr; Lesser Bairam; Ramadan; 1st of Shawwal) Witnessing the feast of breaking the fast of Ramadan in a dream means overcoming depression, dispelling stress, regaining joy, ease in one's life, acceptance of one's prayers, repentance from sin, recovering one's losses, relief, finding a lost object, prosperity, comfort, spending money and exchanging gifts. Pleasure (Enjoyment; Orgasm; Sexual climax; Sexual pleasure) In a dream, pleasure means something which is temporary, or a short lived benefit. Sexual enjoyment in a dream also means committing the forbidden act of adultery, or it could denote usury, or a deceptive sale. Sexual pleasure in a dream also may mean arrogance, pride about one's properties, business partnership, or a marriage where the wife will enjoy what she receives and the husband will benefit from satisfying his desire. Sorcerer Sorcery and sorcerers refer to unjust statements, lies, dissension, machinations, devilish temptation, vanity, atheism, and the like or the separation of a married couple. They also symbolize ugly acts and baseless, unable, and mean business. The sorcerer or witch is an unfair, untrustworthy, wicked, and cruel enemy. The word sehr, Arabic for sorcery, is almost a homonym of sahar, the last sequence in dreaming before the break of day. Hence dreaming of that kind of dawn means that the dreamer will somehow be involved in magic, in either way, or will commit a sin for which he will have to implore God’s mercy, bearing in mind the Quranic verse: “… and ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness.” (“Al-Dhariyat” [The Winnowing Winds], verse 18.) That period of the night is also said to be the one when dreams are most likely to come true. The word is also close to sohoor, the very late meal that those who fast during the holy month of Ramadan take. In dreams it means that the hero will render his enemies mad; that he will repent if he disobeyed God’s commandments, that he will return to the right path, if an atheist, or that he will become prosperous. Fasting If one sees masses of people fasting in a dream, it could mean a famine. If one eats during the hours of observing the fast in a dream, it means that he will commit a sin, or it could mean indebtedness or falling sick. Fasting the month of Ramadan in a dream also means safety, protection from evil or repentance from sins. Fasting the extra six days following the festival day which concludes the holy month of Ramadan in a dream means patching one's prayers or paying charity or regretting one's faults. Fasting Intentionally breaking the obligatory fast of Ramadan in a dream also means neglecting one of the pillars of Islam. If one acknowledges that, then vows to offer the required duties in a dream, it means that he could receive an unexpected gift which will arrive shortly. If one recognizes in his dream the importance of the month of Ramadan, it means that he is on the right path. If he is not fasting, it means that he may go on a journey. Voluntary fasting in a dream means protection against one's enemies. If a sick person sees himself fasting in a dream, it could mean his death, silence, celebrations or recovering from an illness. Fasting If one is sick, it means that he will recover from his illness. If he is lost in heedlessness, it means that Allah Almighty will grant him guidance. If he is indebted, it means that he will be able to repay his debts. If in his dream, one intentionally breaks his fast during the prescribed fast of the holy month of Ramadan, it means that he could kill someone. Similarly, if one sees himself killing someone in a dream, it means that he has intentionally broke his obligatory fast. Observing the two months of atonement for the sin of breaking the fast during the holy month of Ramadan or for any such fast for the expiation of sins in a dream means that one may fall sick and repent to Allah Almighty from his sins. Young woman If she adorns herself and plays up her charms in the dream, then such goodness will be public. If a young girl sees herself as an old woman in a dream, it means that she will live with modesty and preserve her chastity. If an old woman sees herself turned young again in the dream, it means regaining her strength, sexual desire and fertility. If she engages in lawful sexual intercourse in marriage, it denotes strong religious adherence. Prematurity (Also look under Beard.) Prematurity is not favoured by the interpreters of dreams, except for the ability to speak early, because, says Ibn Siren, man is a talking animal. So the act is more or less natural. But for the rest it heralds a scandal or death. Bad dreams of that kind involve, for example, little children with beards, getting married, or kids having a baby. Corn The green ear or spike of corn symbolizes the fertility of the year. But it could also mean the death or killing of young people. Yellow spikes refer to the demise of the elderly. The dry or dead corn standing on its stem is a sterile year, in view of verses 43 to 49 in the Quranic surah, or chapter, on Yusuf (Joseph). And the king said: Lo! I saw in a dream seven fat kine which seven lean were eating, and seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry. O notables! Expound for me my vision, if ye can interpret dreams. They answered: Jumbled dreams! And we are not knowing in the interpretation of dreams. Gall bladder Cutting someone's gall bladder with one's teeth in a dream means perfidy and jealousy. If he drinks any blood that comes out of such cut in the dream, it means that he will confiscate or appropriate someone's money having no right to do so. Old woman If one sees himself frequenting an old woman in a dream, his dream denotes his attachment to worldly gains. If an old woman who passed her menopause sees herself in a dream experiencing her menstrual period again and regaining her sexual drive, and if she sees herself engaged in sexual intercourse in the dream, it means that she will become religious and have strong material and spiritual success in her life if her sexual intercourse in the dream is marital intercourse and of a lawful nature. Otherwise, if it is unlawful, then it represents her attachment to worldly gains and neglects for her spiritual values.
