Incident - Dreamers hair became Shaven A person approached Ibn Sirin (RA) and said : “ I have seen a dream that I have shaven my hair” or he said “ I have seen my head shaven. Please interpret the dream for me”. The Imaam said: “This slave of yours will be separated from you either by becoming free or by your death or his”. (The narrator says ) that the master died within five or six days after seeing this dream. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - seeing a Glass Vessel Break A person revealed his dream to Ibn Sirin (RA) saying that he had seen a glass vessel in his hand. Suddenly it fell from his hand and borke. Or he said that he saw it broken in his hand while holding it. The Imaam asked whether his wife was expecting. When he said she was he said that she will die at the time of delivery and the boy will live. The interpretation materialized exactly as the Imaam had interpreted. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Seeing Two Sheeps fightings right next to your wife Finding nothing she chose to use a scissors rather. In her haste, she inured herself causing a deep wound on that part of her body. To confirm this, go straight to her and see for yourself.” The man went straight to his wife expressing his desire to fulfils his need. She said: “No! Not until you explain to me why you had avoided me for seven months!” He gave his explanation regarding his dream and the interpretation given by the learned Imaam. Upon this she exclaimed: “The Imaam has spoken the truth” Then she took his hand and passed it over the cotton wool covering the wound. When he ws satisfied he went back to the Imaam to report his findings. The Imaam praised and glorified Allah for having guided him to the correct interpretation of the dream. Incident - Seeing Two Sheeps fightings right next to your wife Ibn Sirin (RA) was approached by a person who said that he saw a very shameful and disturbing dream and that he was ashamed to reveal it because of its nature. The Imaam asked him to write down the dream on a sheet of paper. He wrote that he had been away from home for three months. During his absence he dreamed that he has returned home, finding this wife asleep on her bed while two sheep with horns were engaged in battle near her bed. The one injured the other. Because of this dream he has avoided approaching his wife and yet, by Allah, he loved her a great deal. When the Imaam read this letter, he said to him not to leave his wife as she was a chaste and honourable woman. He explained the dream thus: “When she heard that you were returning home shortly, in fact you were almost home, she urgently sought for something with which to remove her public hair. Incident - Teeth Falling Out in a Dream Sharik bin Abi Shamr came to Sa'id bin Al-Musayyib and said: "I saw all my teeth falling out in a dream." Sa'iid bin Al-Musayyib replied: "What a calamity! If your dream is true, it means that all your relatives will die before you." Thus, Sa'id interpreted teeth from the root of the word canines (e.g., the family of, or relatives, clans, followers, or age. arb. Asnan). Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Swallowming Small Pearls A man said to Imam Ibn Seer'in: "I saw a man swallowing small pearls, then bringing them out of his mouth bigger in size in the dream." Incident - Falling Down From High Altitude A man saw himself in a dream falling down from a high altitude. When he woke up, he said to himself: "I will avoid going out of my house or seeing people for a while." During the middle of the afternoon of that same day, a close friend came to see him, and called him from downstairs. Incident - Short Black Woman A man told Imam Ibn Sirin: "I saw that I was betrothed to a black woman who was short in the dream." Ibn Sirin replied: "Go and marry her, for her blackness is her richness, and her size represents the span of her life. For you will shortly inherit her wealth." Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - A Blessed flesh on the lap of Um-ul Fadhl R.A Um-ul Fadhl once came to Prophet Muhammad (Alayhi-Salam) and said: "O Prophet Muhammad! I saw an awful dream." He replied: "Blessed be it." She continued: "I saw a piece of your flesh put in my lap!" Prophet Muhammad (Alayhi-Salam) smiled and said: "My daughter Fatimah will beget a son, and you shall take it into your lap." Later on, Fatima, God be pleased with her, conceived a child from her cousin Ali, God bless his countenance, and Um-ul Fadhl placed the newborn in her lap. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Omar's robe dragging Abu Sa'id Al-Khjdr'i, God be pleased with him, reported that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, has said: "While in my sleep, I saw people presented before me, most of whom wore a garment that covered down to their breast. Then arrived Omar who was dragging his robe behind him." Someone asked: "How did you interpret it, O Prophet Muhammad?" He replied: "Commitment to one's religion." Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - a king trying to Annihilate the Muslims He had no choice but to accede. He deployed a huge army under the command of his son. The two sides met in the middle of the sea. For three days a fierce battle ensued between the Muslims and non-Muslims. One the third day the Christians army was defeated. Not a single person was spared. When the king came to learn about this, he called for the sheikh and admitted his folly before him. He then secretly accepted Islam at his hands and bestowed many of his favours on him. It is said that he also learned the Holy Quran by the Shaikh and this affair of the king became popular in Saqliyyah. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Bartering Wheat For Barley A man said to a dream interpreter: "I saw myself in a dream bartering wheat for barley." The dream interpreter replied: "You have discontinued reading the Quran to become a poet." The man obliged and repented. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - a king trying to Annihilate the Muslims When the sheikh and his colleagues departed the king began to ponder deeply about what the sheikh had said. He became convinced and decided not to go ahead with his plans. When the clergy heard of this they approached him and urged him to go ahead with his plan. They reasoned with him not to believe the interpretation of the sheikh as he was a Muslim and a Muslim would obviously be opposed to king Muslims. They also sought his permission to kill the sheikh which he refused. They continued to incite him against the Muslim and urged him to go ahead with his plans. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin

What have you to say about the drums?” He recited the verse: And when the trumpet will be blowns, this will be a very hard day for the non-believers-not an easy one. When the king heard this he became utterly shocked and perplexed since the Shaikh's explanation was rational and irrefutable. To avoid embarrassment to himself he dismissed the sheikh and his colleagues saying that he would have believed him if he (the sheikh) were not a Muslim. But since he is a Muslim he is biased in his delivery of interpretation. The Shaikh said: “You will soon find out for yourself, o king!”. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - a king trying to Annihilate the Muslims The Alim said to the king that he would interpret the dream only if he guaranteed their safety which he did. The learned Alim interpreted the dream thus; “O king, I see no wisdom in your wanting to kill the Muslims and marching on them for this purpose. Please do not deploy your army for they will not return to you alive. They will be defeated and destroyed. And do not for one moment think that I give this interpretation because I am a Muslim”. The king asked him for proof to which he replied that the Holy Book of Allah was the source for his proof. And the beating of drums and blowings of trumpets are signs of happiness, ecstasy and victory. Also drums are only beaten in the presence of asking if there is some reason for happiness. When the king heard this, he became both surprised and delighted. He then summoned some Jewish ulama and asked them for their interpretation. They also interpreted the dream as a glad tiding of victory. He then called some Muslim ulamaa and demanded that they interpret the dream. Incident - Angel Writing Four Times It is related that Al-Mustanjid Billah son of Al-Muqtafi saw during his father's life a dream in which an angel descended and wrote four times the Arabic letter 'H' in the palm of his hand. When Al-Mustanjid woke up, he told the dream to an interpreter who replied: "You will receive the Caliphate from your father in the year five hundred fifty-five, and already five months and five days have passed." Incident - A Bird Flying Off Chest A man said to a dream interpreter: "I saw a bird flying off from my chest, then I sought my mother who hid me inside her garment." The interpreter replied: "If your dream is true, then it means your death. The bird represents your soul, and your hiding in your mother's robe means your burial. God Almighty has said: 'From it We created you, and into it We shall return you."' Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa and reading Qur'an Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa once visited Hamza Bin Al-Habib Al-Zayyat, God bless his soul, who had memorized the Holy Qur'an and read it with great devotion, seeking God's pleasure, and saw him crying and rubbing his cheeks with dust. He exclaimed: "I call upon God's protection for you. Oh Hamza, what is this crying?" Hamza replied: "Last night, I saw in a dream that the Day of Resurrection took place. The readers of the Qur'an were called in to stand before God Almighty, and I was among them. I then heard an amiable voice saying: 'Only those who lived by the Qur'an should enter.' I was in shock, so I began to withdraw. A voice called my name: "Where are you going to, Oh Hamza Bin Al-Zayyat?' I cried out: 'At thy command, Oh caller to my Lord.' An angel then said to me: 'Say: At Thy command Oh my Lord, At Thy command.' So I repeated what the angel told me to say. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Incident - Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa and reading Qur'an They celebrate His praises, and bow down in prostration before Him.' (Qur'an 7:206). As I intended to prostrate before my Lord, my Lord said: 'Sufficient is the reading. Do not prostrate here.' He continued: 'Oh Hamza, who taught you how to read this?' I replied: 'Sulaiman.' He said: 'True. Who taught Sulaiman?' I replied: 'Yahya.' He said: 'True. Who taught Yahya?' I replied: 'Abi Abdu-Rahman.' He said: 'True. Who taught Abi Abdu-Rahman?' I replied: 'Ali Bin Abi Talib, the cousin of Thy Prophet.' He said: 'Ali spoke the truth. Who taught Ali?' I replied: 'Thy Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam.' He said: 'My Prophet spoke the truth. Who taught My Prophet?' I replied: 'Gibreel, Alayhi-Salam.' He continued: 'And Who taught Gibreel?' I remained silent. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
