Pumpkin (Gourd; Squash; Zucchini) In a dream, a pumpkin represents a scholar, or a highly trained physician who cares about his patients and who is loved by the people, who asks for little and who rarely asks for anything for himself. A pumpkin in a dream could also denote medicine and particularly when cooked. Eating pumpkin in a dream also means guidance, following good example, or it could mean temptation. Love • Being fond of or in love with someone: The mind is absent and religious tenets are neglected. However, the same dream could have different interpretations depending on the subject. For a scholar this dream would mean that he will lead people astray and tempt them with his rhetoric. For a small man, it would mean that he would rise, prove his worth and the relevance of his thoughts, and become famous and that his religious faith will be enhanced, earning him the best of two worlds. For a new convert to Islam he would further his knowledge of that religion and his faith would be strengthened. However, if he had broken the resistance of his beloved one and made love, either party is in danger of being flogged in reality. Pavilion (Army; Canopy; Large tent) In a dream, a pavilion represents someone in command. Seeing a pavilion in a dream also means conquering one's enemy. A canopy in a dream represents someone who has less authority than the commander, a dome represents someone of a lower rank, and a tent in a dream means less than a dome. If a commander is seen leaving his pavilion in a dream, it means that he will lose some of his authority, or that he may die shortly. Unknown pavilions of either green or white colors in a dream mean healing, endowments, gifts, martyrdom, visiting the graves of righteous people, or a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Tongue An animal's tongue in a dream represents one's life or death, because for an animal, his tongue is like a hand through which he takes things. If a scholar's tongue is cut off in a dream, it means that he will lose his argument, or it could mean the death of his assistant, student or son. Losing one's tongue in a dream represents the malicious joy of one's enemy, family, or neighbors for one's losses, or it could mean the death of a beloved, severing a relationship, or a plant disease that will affect one's fruit bearing trees. City (Knowledge; Town; Village) Entering a city in a dream means appeasement of one's fears. Ibn Sirin use to prefer entering the city in a dream rather than leaving it. A city in a dream also represents a learned person, a wise man and a scholar. If one enters a city and finds it in ruins in his dream, it means that the learned people of that city no longer live there. It is said that seeing a city in a dream means the death of its ruler or an unjust governor from that place. Seeing a city being built in a dream signifies the growing number of its learned people and represents children who will continue the path of their fathers. Banknote Perhaps banknotes in a dream could represent the punishment of a hypocrite, or a person who respects no commitment toward his friends, or perhaps they could represent a beloved, mutual support, helping others, or good news. Common denominations such as one hundred represent working for the government. If one sees himself receiving a coin of money, or a banknote (e.g. One dollar), it means that he is suffering from oppression. If one sees himself giving someone a banknote of the denomination one, then if he finds it shredded into pieces in the dream, it represents a severe enmity, a grievance, or a fight. Camel Camels symbolize devils in view of a religious belief that they are carrying demons on their humps. They also symbolize death because of their ugly voice and bad temper and because they carry beloved ones far away. Likewise, the camel represents the ignorant and hypocritical individual in view of the Quranic verse: “Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand? They are but as the cattle—nay, but they are farther astray!” (“Al-Furqan” [The Criterion], verse 44.) It also alludes to the patient, enduring person or the ship (because camels are the ships that ply the lands). Pigeon Pigeon's rumbling or roar in a dream means reproof or censure for a fault. A white pigeon in a dream means spirituality, a green pigeon represents piety, while a black pigeon denotes a mastery. A frightened pigeon in a dream means divorce or death. A landing pigeon in a dream represents the long awaited arrival of a beloved. Eating pigeon's meat in a dream means to steal money from one's own workers, to defraud them, or to cheat one's servants. Prison Entering a prison in a dream also means longevity, or reuniting with one's beloved. If one chooses to live in a sanctuary away from people in a dream, it means that he will be protected from sin. If a sick person leaves his prison cell in a dream, it means that he will recover from his illness. If a prisoner sees the gates of his jail open, or if there is a hole in the wall, or a ray of light, or if the ceiling of one's prison disappears and he can see the skies and stars above him, or if he can see them through the walls of his cell in a dream, it means that he will escape from jail. Chest (Bosom; Heart) If one has a broad and a nice looking chest in a dream, it means repentance of a sinner or being eager and willing to follow the truth and to comply with it, or it could mean making it easy to accept things that were difficult to absorb. If a woman sees her beloved inside her chest in a dream, it means that she is suffering because of him or complaining about him, or if she is ill, it means that she will recover from her illness. To have a broad chest in a dream also means giving preference to others needs. One's chest in a dream also represents what one may conceal in it of knowledge, guidance, heedlessness or it could represent a coffer where one hides his money. Beard A white beard in a dream means honor, dignity and good fame. If one's beard turns gray, leaving few black hairs in the dream, it means earning respect. If all its hair becomes gray in the dream, it means poverty and loss of integrity. Seeing one's wife having a beard in a dream means increase in one's wealth or growth of the bond business, or sickness of one's wife, or it could mean that she will no longer be able to conceive children, though if she had a son, it means that he will control the entire family. If a woman sees herself having a beard in a dream, it means losing her husband and if she is a widow, it means that she will marry a hard-working man who is compatible with her. If a pregnant woman sees that in a dream, it means that she will beget a son, and if she has a quarrel with someone, it means that she will win the battle and stand for herself with dignity and courage. Ants They also represent the person seeing the dream or members of his family or relatives. Understanding the language of ants in a dream means sovereignty, leadership and prosperity. If one sees ants entering his house and carrying food in a dream, it means prosperity in that family. If one sees ants leaving his house and carrying food with them in a dream, it means poverty. Seeing ants coming out of one's nostrils, ears, mouth or any part of his body and rejoicing at that sight in the dream means martyrdom. Friday (.arb. Jumua, the sixth day of the week.) Recognizing Friday, the sixth day of the week in which the believers gather for their congregational prayers in a dream means receiving Allah's blessings, recuperating a lost property, receiving compensation for one's losses, and changes in his financial conditions from tightness to ease. If one sees people gathered to pray the congregational Friday prayers at the grand mosque while he is still in his house or shop, and if he hears the call and segments of their prayers, or if he suspects people to be leaving the mosque to return to their homes in the dream, it means loss of his status in that town. Canal (Channel; Water passage; Watercourse) In a dream, a canal represents a woman, money or a scholar. Running a watercourse or a channel in a dream means getting married, building a business, or it could mean finding a job and serving one's family and community. Seeing a canal in a dream also means sufferings caused by a member of one's family. Water channels in a dream represent servants or housekeepers. A canal in a dream also could signify a lavatory, sewage, a marketplace, or it could mean a shop. Thus, digging a canal in a dream also could mean prosperity and spending money to support one's family and dependents. World It also may be interpreted as one's wife, child, material growth, business success, good harvest, awakening, victory, love, or a beloved with two faces. Whether the world appears beautiful or ugly in one's dream, it could mean any of the above interpretations. Seeing the world in one's dream also could be a divine guidance, snowing the person what he or she must see and understand in this world. If one sees himself walking away from the world in the dream, it means that he may become a renunciate. If one embraces the world in the dream, it means that he will amply satisfy his desire for it. If one sees himself running after it and the world running away from him in the dream, it means that the world will ultimately deceive him and lead him into temptation. Friday If one thinks it is Friday in his dream, then the meaning will be more pejorative than laudatory. Joining the congregational Friday prayers in a dream also may connote a pleasant journey with anticipation of a financial reward one may receive. Joining the Friday congregational prayers in a dream is a sign of joy and living to join one of the two festive congregational prayers of the end of Ramadan or that of the pilgrimage season. The Friday congregational prayers in a dream also represents the pilgrimage of the poor people, or satisfying one's debts. Snake Black snakes and pythons in a dream represent army generals. Water snakes in a dream represent money. If one sees his garden covered with snakes in a dream, it means that its trees will bear fruits and exceed the normal crop. A snake coming out of its hole in a dream represents a son. A snake leaving one's house in a dream means its destruction or demolition. Killing a snake in a dream means marriage. Tapeworms or other intestinal worms in a dream represent one's relatives and their children. Seeing snakes eating on one's table in a dream means separation between friends. Desert snakes in a dream represent highway robbers. In general a snake or a serpent in a dream represent jealousy, envy, perfidy, swindling people's properties, deceit and an avowed enmity. Door If the door of one's house opens to the street in a dream, it means that what one earns will be of benefit to strangers rather than to his own household. The disappearing of a door in a dream means death of the head of that household. Passing through a small door into an open space means relief from difficulties. If one sees himself leaving his house from the main door into a spacious green garden in a dream, it means entering the realms of the hereafter. If one sees two ringlets or door knockers hanging at his door in a dream, it means indebtedness to two people who are demanding to be paid. If one sees fire burning his door in a dream, it means the death of his wife, or it may mean his failure to properly manage that household. The gates of a city represent a righteous governor. Adam • Seeing Adam: (1) The dreamer has committed a sin and should repent. (2) A reference to one’s father or ruler or to knowledge. (3) Will become a ruler or governor if eligible for such an honour. (4) Will be deceived and captured by one’s enemies, then released after some time. (5) A reference to the interpreter of dreams, because Adam was the first ever to have dreamed (of Eve) and understood what dreams expressed. (6) A harbinger of the pilgrimage to Mecca (Makkah). (7) A coming together of the beloved ones. (8) Will have plenty of children, but more boys than girls. (9) Forgetfulness and absentmindedness. (10) Trickery and ruses. (11) The dreamer is mixing with snake charmers, poison makers, spiritualists and mediums, who are the demons spokesmen. (12) A reference to rough garments, weeping, or a malaise due to unhealthy food. (13) A long journey, perhaps to where Adam first descended on Earth. Mouse The mouse symbolizes the dreamer’s household: those who dwell in his house—his wife and children, et cetera—a debauched woman, or, some say, a devilish Jewish woman or a Jew, as related by Al-Nabulsi. It could also refer to a thief. Many mice means profit and welfare. Mice of the same color allude to women. The rat is a digging thief.
• Dreaming of a mouse playing in one’s house: Prosperity will increase because, according to the ancient Arabs, mice invade only those places that are prosperous. And only people who are not hungry can afford to play.
• Seeing mice in one’s house: Dangerous women will enter that house.
• A mouse leaving one’s house: Livelihood and blessings will decrease.
• Owning a mouse: Will have a servant because, like servants, mice share the food of the master.
