Vessel • The dreamer’s boat capsizing and sinking: (1) His ruler or superior will be angry with him. (2) His capital will shrink if he is a merchant. (3) He will face a tragedy. (4) He will have a safe journey in view of the Quranic verse: “Allah is He Who created the heavens and earth, and causeth water to descend from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you, and makes the ships to be of service unto you, that they may run upon the sea at His command …” (“Ibrahim” [Abraham], verse 32.)

Arched bridge Crossing an arched bridge that leads to the palace of a ruler in a dream means receiving money, or it could mean getting married to a noble person. An unknown bridge in a dream represents the world and particularly if it connects the city with the cemetery. It also could represent a ship, or the Bridge of the Day of Judgement, for it is the last hurdle before reaching paradise. If one crosses an arched bridge in his dream, then it means that he will cross the abode of this world into the abode of the hereafter and particularly if one meets departed souls from the world or enters unknown places or sees uncommon structures, or if a bird carries him by air, or if a beast swallows him, or if he falls into a ditch or flies into the heavens in his dream, all of which also means recovering from an illness or undertaking a long journey, or it could mean returning home from a long journey. I saw as if a scale had descended from the Heavens in which you and Abu Bakr were weighed So you outweighed Abu Bakr. Abu Bkar and 'Umar were weighed, and Abu Bakr outweighed ('Umar). Satan Satan symbolizes Man’s enemy in Heaven and on earth, a cunning, deceitful, alert, and malicious enemy who cares for nothing and respects nothing and no one. He could also represent a prince, a state minister, a judge, a policeman, a scholar, a preacher, an atheist, a hypocrite, a covetous person, the dreamer’s family or children, people with very fine hearing, spies, builders, and divers.
• Seeing Satan: Joy and excessive sexual passion, as the word shaytan, Satan in Arabic, comes from shatat, meaning “excess.” This being the case, he could be identified, in Western terms, with Asmodeus.
• Satan manhandling the dreamer: The dreamer is a usurer.

Paradise • Being driven or introduced to Paradise: (1) Death is near. (2) The dreamer will become wise and repent from sins at the hands of the person seen taking him to Paradise if that person can be identified.
• Being told, “Enter Paradise,” and refusing to obey: The dreamer is an apostate in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “Lo! they who deny Our revelations and scorn them, for them the gates of Heaven will not be opened nor will they enter the Garden until the camel goeth through the needle’s eye. Thus do We requite the guilty.” (“Al-Araf [The Heights], verse 40.)

Dog The dog is also a harbinger of fever, in view of the terrible disease Al-Shiira Al-Yamaneyyah (literally translated, it means the Yemeni hair; probably hirsutism or hypertrichosis, more popularly known as the werewolf phenomenon, which had a correlation not with the full moon, but with Al-Shiira Al-Yamaneyyah, which was also the name of Sirius, a star of the constellation called the Greater Dog, or Canis Major, which is the brightest star in the heavens). It could also be a sign of apostasy, atheism, or despair in God’s mercy and scepticism about His messages. All dogs, in general, symbolize the worldly persons (perhaps because, in Arabic, whereas the word kalb means “dog,” takalub means “to rush madly upon; to contend for”), as well as the humble, submissive people, the beggars, or the lads who go from door to door. In abstract terms, dogs are the incarnation of meanness, lowliness, villainy, and humiliation or humility with everlasting affection for the master and care for the latter’s money and children or in-laws. Jesus Christ The Christians say Jesus is the Son of God. Again God says in the Holy Quran: “Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any God along with Him” (“Al-Muminun” [The Believers], verse 91.) (11) Christians will appear in the dreamer’s life. (12) Will be accused, though innocent. (13) Someone will lie to the dreamer or his mother. (14) Good tidings, because Jesus predicted the advent of the Holy Prophet. (15) Prayers will be heard. (16) For a craftsman: Benefits and good events. (17) Indignation, wrath, and anger, by allusion to God’s wrath when those who had asked Jesus to produce a table spread with food from heaven, then believed neither the miracle nor Jesus himself were turned into pigs and when those who assaulted Moses on a Saturday were turned into monkeys.32 (18) Plenty of luck with companions and students or disciples. Kabah Praying on top of the holy Kabah in a dream means becoming an apostate. Entering the holy Mosque in Mecca and praying on the roof of the holy Kabah in a dream represents peace, tranquillity, presiding over others, it also means that one will become victorious wherever one goes, though with a questionable conduct, he also may follow innovation and depart from the traditions and teachings of Allah's Messenger, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam. Walking by the holy Kabah, or leaving it behind in a dream means going against the traditions of Allah's Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, following the path of innovation, or interpreting things according to one's own mind and liking. If one sees angels descending from the heavens to lift away the pillar of Allah's House from Mecca and place it in a different town in the dream, it means that people have gone astray and the time of destruction has come. Visiting holy sites Visiting the Prophet's Mosque in Medina in a dream means seeking Allah's nearness and his pleasure through good deeds. It also means feeling safe, mixing with people of knowledge, associating with people of religious ranks, joining the company of knowledge seekers, and developing sincere love for the family of Allah's Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, serving and loving those who love his progeny. Visiting the Prophet's Mosque (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) in a dream also means love, knowledge and guidance. Visiting Al-Aqsa Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem in a dream means blessings, understanding the inner meaning of important spiritual subjects and miraculous events, or reflecting upon the Nocturnal Journey of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam), the night in which the eight heavens were decorated to receive and honor him when he was called upon to come before Allah Almighty. Tree The tree symbolizes religion and sects in view of the allegory in the Holy Quran of the good tree (date palm) and the good words: “Seest thou not how Allah coineth a similitude: A goodly saying, as a goodly tree, its roots set firm, branches reaching into Heaven.” (“Ibrahim” [Abraham], verse 24.) Likewise, the Muslims Holy Prophet likened the good tree to the Muslim. The one he saw himself holding in a spiritual odyssey,52 he said, was the duty of praying, which he had brought to his followers. Ancient Arab dream interpreters said that whereas the tree referred to the man’s deeds, religion, or ego, its leaves symbolizes his character, its beauty his nice shape and clothing, its branches his brothers, relatives, folk, and beliefs, its heart his hidden essence and his secrets, its bark his appearance, skin, and all that he uses to adorn himself with, and its semen his faith, piety, assets, and life. Grammarian If a falsifier becomes a grammarian in a dream, it means that he will turn truthful and become known for it. If he is a heedless person, it means that he will receive guidance. Slaughter If he is a war captured prisoner, it means that he will be set free. If he is a leader, it means that his sovereignty will widen. Slaughtering someone in a dream means being unjust toward him. Slaughtering a pigeon in a dream means getting married. Cutting a piece of flesh from one's backside in a dream means that he engages in sodomy. If one finds himself slaughtered but does not know who killed him in the dream, it means that he is an innovator, or it could mean that he will forge a testimony. Bond If it is a bond made of a piece of cloth, or a thread in the dream, then it means attachment to something that will not last. In a dream, a bond also means delays when one is intending to travel, and for a merchant it means salability of his merchandise, and as for someone suffering from depression, it means perseverance of his sorrows. To see oneself tied-up in Allah's cause in a dream means caring for one's family. Seeing oneself tied-up or fettered in a city or a village in a dream means living there. Illness The sickness of a ruler means religious failure, or that he may die in that same year. The illness of a teacher in a dream means separation from his students. The illness of a child in a dream means distress and worries for his parents. The death of a suffering old person, or someone with a terminal illness in a dream means relief. The death of an animal in a dream means lack of benefits. A plague in a dream means drought, or prosperity for physicians as well as for undertakers. Complaining about some pain in a dream means distress, unless if the one complaining in the dream is an opponent, then it means victory and joy for the person seeing the dream.
