Reading Reading a book in another language in a dream means travelling to such a country, or going to places one is not familiar with and performing a job that will earn him fame. If one sees himself reading a book in a foreign language and is unable to properly decipher its words in a dream, it means that he will escape from a potential danger he could face in such a land, or it could mean falling sick in a foreign country, then recovering from one's illness before returning to one's homeland. Beard • A beautiful and proportionate beard, not too long, not too short: Money, prestige, and nice living. • The beard longer than it should be or than it is in reality: Debts and worries. • The beard lengthening till reaching the belly and sticking to it: Money and prestige but not before toiling inasmuch as the beard seemed sticking to the belly. • The beard reaching the navel: The dreamer is disobeying God. • The beard reaching the navel and the dreamer looking at it: The latter is a muath-then (he who calls for prayers), but one who acts as a Peeping Tom from the top of his minaret, looking through the windows all around. • The beard lengthening on both sides but not from the middle: Will acquire money, which somebody else will enjoy. Mattress A black mattress in the dream represents a woman who is engaged in doing something for other than Allah's pleasure. Buying a new and a beautiful looking mattress in a dream means marriage to a chaste and a beautiful woman. If the new mattress is torn or damaged in the dream, it means living with an impious woman. Changing the place of one's bed in a dream means divorce. If one finds himself unable to sleep on his bed in a dream, it means that he cannot have marital relationship with his wife, or perhaps he could be suffering from impotence. Flying • Flying on one’s back: (1) Will have a comfortable sea journey. (2) Unemployment. (3) Death, if the dreamer is ill. • Flying with wings: Change of condition. If destination is reached, situation will improve. Scholars (Early companions; Legist; Masjid; Men of knowledge; Mosque; Religious doctors; Righteous men) A scholar in a dream represents glad tidings, a promotion, or a commendation and it represents one who acts upon what he knows and says. Seeing one of the early scholars in a dream means increase in one's knowledge, for they were the wise representatives of Allah's message on earth. Seeing them also means increase in one's wisdom, happiness, joy, and one's dream could mean that one will stand to admonish people or counsel them. Camel • A camel eating meat or going about eating something unknown from each house: An epidemic. • A camel seen downtown or amid a group of people: An outspoken man will die or get killed. • A camel chasing people: A tyrant, an enemy, or some flood will wreak havoc in the area. • Falling from a camel: Will become poor. • Being thrown by a camel: Will get ill. • A camel rebelling against the dreamer: Disease, sorrow, and a dispute with a man. • Being unable to control a camel: Pain from a mighty enemy. • Taking a camel’s reins and pulling it to a known place: (1) Will reform a debauchee. Leg Legs in a dream also represent man's wealth or his livelihood. In that sense, if one's legs turn into iron in a dream, it represents a lasting prosperity. If his legs turn into wood in a dream, it means that he will grow weaker and unable to earn for himself. If one's legs become glass or pottery in a dream, it means that he may die shortly, and that his property and wealth will be distributed to his heirs. If one finds his leg shorter than usual in a dream, it means that he will lose some of his money. If one walks on one foot in a dream, it means that he will lose half of his wealth. Paradise • Reclining on one of the couches of Paradise: The dreamer’s wife is virtuous and good. • The dreamer being unable to recall when he entered Paradise: His dignity and prosperity will last forever. • Being banned from entering Paradise and taking any of its fruits: The dreamer has abandoned religion and become corrupt in view of the Quranic verse: “They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Dance • Being dragged to a dance: Escape from a problem or an accusation. • A child dancing: Bad dream, meaning that the subject might become a deaf-mute, because mutes use their hands to make signs, like a dancing child. • Dancing on a hill or any elevated place: Fear. • A prisoner dreaming that he is dancing: Will be unchained and freed from prison. • A rich or poor woman dancing: Silly acts and big scandal. • Dreaming that you dance while sailing in reality: Hardships are ahead. • A poor person dancing: Will get rich, but only for a while. • A professional male dancer dancing for himself: Someone associated with catastrophes. • A professional female dancer: (1) The underworld, or the mean world. Adultery • Committing adultery with the wife of a person known to the dreamer: The dreamer wants to take a bite at his fortune. • Sleeping with somebody else’s wife while the husband is present and raises no objection: That man will entrust the dreamer with the responsibility of looking after his household. • Dreaming of reading the Quranic verse: “The adulterer and the adulteress, scourge ye each one of them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. Camel (Arabian camel; Bactrian camel; Ride) Riding a camel who is obedient to his master in a dream means solving one's problem at the hand of a foreigner. If an Arab helps resolving one's problem in the dream, it means that the person in the dream will perform a pilgrimage to Allah's House in Mecca. If he dismounts his camel during his journey in a dream, it means that he will be inflicted with a disease that will obstruct his journey. If one sees himself leaping over a camel in a dream, it means distress, a sickness or a growing enmity toward an insolent person. Feces Excreting in the wilderness, then covering one's Feces with dirt in a dream means hiding money. To defecate in a marketplace in public in a dream means incurring Allah's displeasure and the curse of His angels. Throwing Feces at someone in a dream means starting a fight or opposing him in opinion, being unjust to him, or causing him great losses. The consequences also may backfire at the assailant. If one sees himself standing inside the sewers and searching through the filth with a stick in his dream, it means that he might become a judge and be accused of bribery or misuse of people's money. Seeing human excrements in a dream means abstraction of movement, stalling of businesses, or facing complex and harmful adversities. Torah • Trying to read the Torah, but being unable to: Will become a fatalist or a predestination. • A Muslim king (or ruler) dreaming that he possesses a Torah: Will conquer his enemy’s territory or sign a peace treaty with him in the former’s favour. • A scholar dreaming that he possesses a Torah: Will acquire more knowledge and excel or will innovate, become heretical, and go astray with the whimsical ones. • Seeing a Torah: (1) A reference to those who abide by that Holy Book. Door If the door is well built in a dream, it means protection of one's private life. Otherwise, whatever maybe seen through such a door means exposing one's private life. If one sees a carpenter building him a new door, this means glad tidings of health and wealth. If one sees himself unable to properly secure the closing of his door in a dream, it means difficulties caused by his wife. If one sees himself changing his door in a dream, it means moving into another house. If one sees himself entering his house and locking his door in a dream, it means protection against evil. Horse • Dreaming that one’s draft horse has become insubordinate and one is unable to control it means the wife will have the upper hand. • The packhorse talking to the dreamer: Plenty of money will come from the wife’s side, and respectability will be enhanced. • Making love to a packhorse: Will do a favour to one’s wife and abstain from complaining of any weakness. • Riding on a draft horse: Will embark on a distant journey and get plenty of welfare from the wife’s side. • Riding and flying with a draft horse: Will travel with one’s wife, who will become somebody. • The draft horse being angry with the dreamer: His wife is an infidel. • Death of a draft horse: Death of a wife. • Theft of a packhorse: Divorce.
