Jesus (Allah's prophet Jesus son of Mary, upon both of them be peace.) One who sees Allah's prophet Jesus Alayhi-Salam, in a dream is a blessed man, a generous one, an ascetic who pleases his Lord, who is filled with contentment, who travels excessively and may acquire knowledge about medicine and herbs. It is said that whoever sees Jesus in a dream will be protected against calamities for that year. If he asks or wishes for something, he will receive it, and if he learns a trade, he will become successful at it. One who sees Jesus Alayhi-Salam, in a dream will become an ascetic, travels throughout the land, escape from his enemy and may become a renowned physician. If one sees Jesus son of Mary in a town looking into people's conditions, it means that calamities will be lifted away from that place, and people will live in peace and tranquillity for a while. Carpet Seeing a carpet spread for one to sit on it and whose owner is unknown in an unknown place in a dream means that one will emigrate to a foreign land and succeed in establishing a good livelihood for himself. If in such a place the carpet is thin in the dream, it means worldly gains and longevity. Sitting on a carpet in a dream also means associating with leaders and judges. If one's carpet is stolen, burned or thinned in a dream, it means nearing the term of his life in this world, afflictions, illness or emaciation. Sword If one's head is cut off with a sword in a dream, it means that the one who received the blow will triumph over the one who beheaded him, or receive benefits through him . If one's body is dismembered with a sword in a dream, it means that he may travel far, or that his progeny will disperse across the land. A sword in a dream also represents wealth, power or knowledge. Waving a sword during a duel in a dream means becoming known in one's field or profession. Ali Seeing Ali in a dream also means having a blessed progeny, vanquishing one's enemy, presiding over the believers, hardships during travels, booty, manifestation of blessings and miracles, acquiring extraordinary knowledge, following the leading practices of Allah's Messenger, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, or fulfillment of one's commands. Bier • Being lifted, placed on a bier, and borne on men’s shoulders: Promotion, power, influence, and tyranny. Will ride on people’s necks and have as many followers as were seen carrying the dreamer in the dream.
• Seeing oneself on a bier without anybody carrying it: Will go to jail.
• A ruler, a chief, a merchant, or a manufacturer seeing himself on a bier rolling or gliding on the soil: Will board a ship.
• Carrying a bier: (1) If eligible, will govern a province as prominent as the people marching in the funeral procession. (2) Illicit gains. (3) Will intercede in favour of a religiously corrupt person.
• A bier flying and people holding to it: (1) A chief or a scholar will die without anybody knowing about it. (2) A great man will die in foreign land, during the pilgrimage or in a battle for the sake of Allah (Jihad). (3) If the dead man on the bier was identified, it would be him in particular. Funeral If one sees himself lifted and placed in a coffin in a dream, it means that people will appoint him to a leadership position. If one sees a group of people performing a funeral prayers and crying over the loss of the deceased in a dream, it means that the conclusion of his life will be commendable. Otherwise, if they express no sorrow for his loss or cry over him, but instead criticize him in the dream, it means that the conclusion of his life will be contemptible. If a merchant, a governor or a leader sees himself sitting over a coffin that is moving freely by itself in the dream, it means taking a trip by sea. If one sees the coffin flying in a dream, it means that a great man of knowledge will die in that town and people will not know of it, or that a known person will die in a foreign land or on the way to or back from a pilgrimage. Narration A person revealed to Imaam Jafar As-Saadiq (RA) his dream: “ I saw the sun rising from my body”. The Imaam Interpreted the dream thus: “You shall be given abundant wealth and treasures by the king orruler and they will also confer honour upon you”. Another person revealed his dream to the Imaam saying: “I saw the sun rising upon my feet and not any other part of my body”. The Imaam interpreted this dream thus: “ Wherever you travel, you shall receive from the king or governor. Wheat, dates and the produce of the land as your livelihood. Cap (Overseas cap; Persian toga; Roman toga; Shawl) In a dream, a cap means travels, a wife who is supporting her husband, or a husband who is supporting his wife. A shawl-like attire that is worn over the head and shoulders in a dream represents honor, valor, a new trade, travel, a brother or a father. Taking off a cap in a dream means losing one's authority or loss of his wealth. A torn cap in a dream means the death of one's brother or father. Soldiers (Angels; Travel) Soldiers in a dream represent Allah's arc angels and the soldiers of mercy, while mercenaries in a dream represent the soldiers of punishment. If one sees himself as a soldier eating his meal inside the chambers of a king in a dream, it means that he will control a land without much efforts on his part. If one's name is listed as a soldier in a dream, it represents his welfare, satisfaction, or that he will continue his education. If a bedridden person sees himself as a soldier in a camp, or that he is discharged from the army in a dream, it means that his illness will end in his death, or it may mean difficulties, distress and losses. Griffin If one hunts or kills a griffin in a dream, it means that he will deceive someone. If he sells a griffin in his dream, it means that he will oppress someone. Torah • A bachelor seeing the Torah: • (1) Will marry a girl or woman from another ethnic group. • (2) Will travel extensively, because the Torah comprises several asfar (scriptures or holy writings, plural of safar, which in Arabic is a homonym for travel). • (3) Might marry an emancipated woman or one without a legal guardian.

Porridge (Gruel) In a dream, porridge means travel by land, abstinence, piety and fear of wrongdoing. Eating porridge in a dream means release from prison, attaining a high ranking position, finding a lost property, or having excellent religious standing. Porridge is mostly made from flour and milk. The flour comes out of grinding. The milk emanates from the udders of an animal and the porridge is cooked on fire, thus all three can be interpreted according to their individual meaning. Vice-regent A vice-regent or a caliph in a dream also represents aloofness, seclusion, truthfulness, volunteering one's services, commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil, developing one's own certitude and faith, repentance, abstaining from sinful actions, imprisonment, sickness, or travels. If one sees himself being awarded the seat of the vice-regent or caliph in a dream, though he does not suit the position, it means that adversities and temptations will befall the land, though the people of knowledge and the righteous ones will escape such danger. Impurity • Dreaming of emerging from sexual intercourse without washing: (1) Will have a boy. (2) Will earn money.
• Being soiled by an impure act: (1) Will err or be in a quandary. (2) Will travel to no avail. In case the subject has dreamed that he had washed perfectly well after such an act, the reverse would happen.
• Being soiled by any animal: Money and blessings.

Water in a Glass Tumbler A tumbler or glass symbolizes one's wife and the water symbolizes a son provided one does not drink the water. If a person sees himself as watering an orchard or irrigating a land from the water contained in such a tumbler, it means his matrimonial life will be one of happiness and prosperity. The, if he sees the orchard or land yielding fruits or crops it means his wife will bear him children. Bird The unknown bird symbolizes the Archangel of Death; a traveller; labour; or a man’s actions or deeds. Big and ferocious or rapacious birds are the kings, chiefs, prominent people, scholars, and rich people or those who make a good living. Waterbirds represent the nobles who hold two posts at a time, since these birds do as they like in the water and in the air. They could also symbolize people who travel by land and by sea. Dreaming of them is better than dreaming of any other species, because they have an easier livelihood and are less rapacious. Singing birds or those that wail simply refer to singers. Small birds are the young boys.
