Vessel The vessel symbolizes everything that saves the dreamer, by allegory to Noah’s ark. It refers particularly to Islam, which salvages human beings from their ignorance or atheism, or to the wife or slave-girl who immunizes the dreamer by ensuring his sexual sufficiency and saves him from the temptation of other women, which might lead to adultery or corruption in society. By so doing, the dreamer’s woman also saves him from Hell in the Hereafter. It also alludes to the dreamer’s parents who protected him when he was a baby from hunger and death, more particularly his mother, whose womb was like a ship he was riding in. Milk Seeing milk or the breast that it comes from for both men and women means money. Milking means abundance or, in some cases, wickedness, deceit, or fraud. Such dreams are more likely to come true when the actors are identified. An excellent dream is that involving cow milk, for it represents what the year will bring and it symbolizes honest gains and relief. The milk of milkless beings means aspirations will be fulfilled when least expected or from unexpected sources. The milk of any wild animal symbolizes strong religious faith. That of carrion eaters and biting insects or reptiles means reconciliation with the enemy.

Turtle The turtle is among the human beings who were metamorphosed, according to religious belief, as a result of a curse. The turtle or tortoise symbolizes: (1) A woman who adorns herself, uses a lot of cosmetics and perfume, and offers herself to men. (2) The chief justice, as the turtle is the most knowledgeable marine creature (according to Ibn Siren). (3) A scholar and a worshiper who reads the Holy Quran.
• A turtle in a garbage can: The people of the area have a scholar but do not know his value.

Jackal The jackal is a man who denies people their rights or stands in their way. It is one of the animals that, according to religious belief, were once human beings before undergoing being cursed. Cat The cat symbolizes a book in view of a verse in the Holy Quran in which the word qitt, meaning in Arabic “cat,” is used as a synonym for “written fate” or “sentence” (“Sad”, verse 16). It could also symbolize the neglect of the woman and children or their harsh treatment. But the cat is one of the most controversial figures in dreams. Some regard it as a servant and a guardian, others as a thief from within the house (an insider). It refers to all beings who stay around the person to guard him but who, at the same time, embezzle, steal, or harm him and are, in fact, of no use to him. For example, being bitten or scratched by a cat would mean that the dreamer will be betrayed by his servant or will fall ill. Kiss (Love; Passion; Rose; Tenderness) A kiss in a dream means satisfying one's need, want or desire, or it could mean subordinating one's enemy. Kissing a man or embracing him lustfully in a dream means getting hold of what one intends to acquire from him. If it is a lustful kiss, then it means accomplishing one's pursuit of benefits, knowledge, or guidance. If it is an amicable kiss, it means that the one who received the kiss will receive benefits from the one who kissed him, or learn something from him, or reap a new understanding of things through him. Kissing a child in a dream means love, care and tenderness toward that child. Kissing a servant in a dream means soliciting the friendship of her master or employer. Vomit If one vomits inside a basin in a dream, it means repentance from his wrongdoing, or it could mean giving a woman a share from unlawful money. If one suffers during vomiting and finds the taste disgusting in his dream, it means that he is forced to confess and apologize for his wrongdoing, though he does not like being caught. It could also mean paying damages, health problems, or it could mean a financial misfortune. Vomiting blood in one's dream means repentance from sin, restraining oneself from indulging in what is forbidden, or it could mean satisfying one's debts, or fulfillment of a vow. If one drinks wine, then vomits the same in his dream, it means that he has received some tainted or unlawful money that he will remit to its rightful owner and repent for his sin. Sodomy • Sodomizing a young but unknown man: Triumph over an enemy (young men generally being regarded as enemies) if the dreamer knows him and there is a dispute between the two. In the absence of hostility, it means that the passive partner will receive some benefit from the active one, his homonym (a person sharing the same name), or a counterpart. The same interpretation would apply, but with a lesser victory or less benefits, if impassioned kisses and intercourse in bed between the two men does not culminate in sodomy. If the dreamer sees himself kissing a man without sexual passion, it means that he will receive some benefit from the one he has kissed inasmuch as he was accepted. Weasel The weasel is among the human beings that, according to religious belief, were cursed and turned into animals, says Ibn Siren. In dreams, it symbolizes a foolish and harsh person, unjust and with little, if any, mercy. The same interpretation for a cat applies to it. Ape The ape (or monkey as well) is a poor man deprived of his means of living. It belongs to the category of human beings who have been metamorphosed as a result of a legendary curse. It represents the wicked, spiteful, and cursing individual, the same as it symbolizes a Jew (according to the ancient Arabs) or a person who commits major sins.
• Fighting and overpowering an ape: Will be ill but recover, unless the ape had the upper hand.

Hell • Dreaming of having entered Hell: (1) The dreamer is committing such sins and abominations as would deserve capital punishment. (2) The dreamer will serve as a judge.
• Having been introduced to Hell: The person who pushed the dreamer into Hell is misleading him and inciting him to commit abominations.
• Having come out unscathed from the Inferno: The dreamer will be immersed in troubles.

Drinking Sea Water If a person dreams that he is drinking sea water and the water is not turbid or muddy nor are any waves seen in such waters it means he will acquire as much of the wealth of this world as the amount of water he had drunk. Moreover he shall lead a clean and happy life. But if the water is brackish or filthy or the ocean is shrouded in darkness or the water assumes the form of huge, frightening waves it suggest he will be afflicted with grief, fear and hardship, the intensity of which will depend on how much of the above conditions prevail in the water or ocean. Record keepers (Angels; Spiritual) Representing the heedful angels in charge of guarding the writings of the Preserved Tablets, and the heavenly beings or scribes in charge of recording peoples deeds. Maqam Ibrahim (The Station Of Abraham, Near The Kabah In Mecca (Makkah) The Quran says: “The First House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka (Mecca (Makkah)): Full of blessings and of guidance for all kinds of beings. In it are Signs manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God” (“Al-Imran” [The Imran Family], verses 96–97.)

Jinn (Sing. Jinni) A creation from a smokeless fire. Among the Jinn, some are believers while others are satans. This is in contrast to human beings who are created from earth and among them some are believers and others are human satans. Jinn in a dream represent fraud, deceit, cunning, perfidy, treachery, theft, alcoholism, invented religious practices, travels, music, bars, tricks, sleight of hand, illusion, sorcery and magic. Mill (Grinder; Press) In a dream, a mill represents a school, a courthouse, a balance, justice, righteousness, benefits, blessings, money, food, charity, or marriage. The millstone in a dream represents a wife and a husband. The flour that issues from between the two grinding stones represents sperms or children. A mill in a dream also means distress and adversities, uptightness, headache, a rivulet, or a windmill. If one sees a mill grinding human beings in a dream, it means loss of lives and adversities. Rain • Abundant rain all over the place: Prosperity, joy, and the discovery of new springs.
