Vessel • Riding in a vessel or being picked up by a vessel in the middle of the sea after being sure of drowning: (1) Will be saved from disease, atheism, poverty, debts, and worries. (2) Will get married or buy a slave girl who will satisfy you and save you the trouble of looking outside. (3) Will be freed from jail, unless the ship was not sailing, which would mean exactly the reverse.
• Sailing in a ship with the dead: Will be saved from fleshly temptations.
• Sailing in a vessel on the high seas: Will embark on a journey full of dangers. The farther the ship is from the shore, the more remote the dreamer’s relief will be.
• Reaching the shore and disembarking from the vessel: The dreamer will disobey God, in view of the Quranic verse: “And when they mount upon the ships they pray to Allah, making their faith pure for Him only, but when He bringeth them safe to land, behold! they ascribe partners (unto Him).” (“Al-Ankabut” [The spider], verse 65.) Moses If one sees him (Alayhi-Salam) in a prison or persecuted, or if one fears a major event that could put and end to his life, or an accident that could kill him, or a dangerous sea trip that could drown him, it means that Allah willing, he will escape and survive such adversity. Seeing Moses (Alayhi-Salam) in a dream also means the end of tyranny, or victory in a war. If one is oppressed, worried and distressed by his own family, and if he sees Moses (Alayhi-Salam) in a similar situation in a dream, it means that Allah Almighty will guide him to a way to overcome them, or if a traveller sees such a dream, it means that he will return safely to his home. Seeing Moses (Alayhi-Salam) in a dream also indicates trials during one's childhood, separation from one's family, witnessing uncommon miracles, or that one may suffer from his own family because of an admonition, or it could represent a will he will leave to them, or it could mean commanding good and eschewing evil. Ship If one's ship is drowning, and if another ship comes to its rescue in the dream, it means that one will escape from a great danger to fall into the hands of a strong person, or that he will escape from a danger, though should he disobey its captain and abandon the second ship in his dream, it means that he may disobey his leader and go astray. Recovering one's ship from the deep in a dream means regaining power. If the ship in one's dream is interpreted as power, it means that he will lose his power or authority. If the ship is interpreted as burdens and difficulties, it means that he will overcome them through prayers or giving charity, or taking a medicine if he is ill. If one's ship drown, and if he sees himself floating in the water holding to a panel or debris from the ship in the dream, it means that he will face the wrath of someone in authority. Seeing Muslims Sailing Like Kings Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) used to visit Um Haram bint Milhan she was the wife of 'Ubada bin As-Samit. One day the Prophet visited her and she provided him with food and started looking for lice in his head. Then Allah's Apostle slept and afterwards woke up smiling. Um Haram asked, "What makes you smile, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "Some of my followers were presented before me in my dream as fighters in Allah's Cause, sailing in the middle of the seas like kings on the thrones or like kings sitting on their thrones." (The narrator Ishaq is not sure as to which expression was correct). Um Haram added, 'I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Invoke Allah, to make me one of them;" So Allah's Apostle invoked Allah for her and then laid his head down (and slept). Then he woke up smiling (again). (Um Haram added): I said, "What makes you smile, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "Some people of my followers were presented before me (in a dream) as fighters in Allah's Cause." He said the same as he had said before. I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Invoke Allah to make me from them." He said, "You are among the first ones."
