Disbelief Making a mistake in a dream also signifies heedlessness in wakefulness. If one's profanity becomes public knowledge in a dream, it means that he will commit a forgery or make false testimony in court. Disbelief in a dream also means ingratitude or it could denote the state of a sick person when he lies in his deathbed and awaits for his soul to be taken back to its Lord. Paradise • Being driven or introduced to Paradise: (1) Death is near. (2) The dreamer will become wise and repent from sins at the hands of the person seen taking him to Paradise if that person can be identified.
• Being told, “Enter Paradise,” and refusing to obey: The dreamer is an apostate in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “Lo! they who deny Our revelations and scorn them, for them the gates of Heaven will not be opened nor will they enter the Garden until the camel goeth through the needle’s eye. Thus do We requite the guilty.” (“Al-Araf [The Heights], verse 40.)

Damson • Eating immature or green damson: Will give alms or heal from a disease.
• Eating yellow damson: Will obtain money but get ill.
• Eating damson from a tree: Will befriend a wealthy but irreligious person.
• Picking damson from a tree: Will marry an heiress.

Ingratitude (Denial; Adjuration; Uncertainty) If one sees himself denying what is true in a dream, it means that he will become an atheist. If he denies what is false in the dream, it means that he will defend what is true and attack what is false. To deny others favors in a dream is an indication of injustice, and to deny the Allahliness of our Creator, Sustainers and Cherisher in a dream means ingratitude and atheism. Mosque • A stranger leading the prayers in a mosque whose imam (spiritual leader) is ill: The iman will die.
• The dreamer’s house turning into a mosque: The dreamer will obtain dignity and promote virtue and justice.
• Entering the mosque with people who dig a hole for the dreamer: The latter will get married.
• The mosque turning into a bathhouse: An unsuspected man is corrupt and irreligious.
• A man praying in the prayer niche: Good augury.

Doomsday • An angel handing over a Scripture or a book to the dreamer and commanding him to read: (1) Good dream for a pious person, meaning joy. (2) The fate of an irreligious dreamer is in jeopardy in view of the Quranic verse: “ (And it will be said unto him): Read thy book. Thy soul sufficeth as reckoner against thee this day.” (“Bani Israil” [The Children of Israel], verse 14.)
• Walking along the path: The dreamer is scrupulously observing religious tenets.

Star Stars symbolize people. Those that have a masculine name represent men; those with a feminine name allude to women. Big ones refer to notables, small ones to youths, children, or slaves. The ones the Arabs used as guiding marks when they moved in the desert are the Prophet Muhammad’s companions. Stars that had once upon a time been worshipped instead of God and were thus metamorphosed, says Ibn Siren, like the Dog Star or Sirius, Venus, and Canopus, symbolize irreligious and evil persons. For a king, the stars are his soldiers and followers; for a bride or a bridegroom the stars are her or his entourage.

Swine The swine is a huge man, rich, and irreligious, with dubious sources of income, a dirty person with long hands, and a mean and stinking atheist.50 Its flesh or meat, its grease, its hair, its stomach, and its skin are cheap and dirty money. Being a swine herd: Will govern low people of dirty origin.
• Owning, finding, or transporting swine: Will obtain dirty money.

Paradise • Seeing Paradise with one’s eyes: Worries will disappear and the dreamer will obtain whatever he desires.
• Seeing Paradise but refusing to enter it: The dreamer is a benefactor and a hard worker. Such a dream can be had only by the fair, never by the unjust.
• Seeing Paradise but being barred from entering it: The dreamer will not be able to perform hajj (pilgrimage), engage in Jihad (holy war) or expiate for some sin, despite his desire to do so.
• Seeing one of the gates of Paradise being closed or slammed in one’s face: One of the dreamer’s parents will die. If two gates are closed, both parents will pass away. In case all gates are closed, this means that the dreamer’s parents are displeased with him. Conversely, if he enters it from any gate, the dreamer is blessed by his parents.
• Entering Paradise: (1) The dreamer will be happy and secure on earth and in the Hereafter. (2) Desires will be fulfilled after hardships, because the way to Paradise, it is believed, is fraught with dangers and evil things. Farmer A farmer in a dream represents a man of good deeds. His planting, plowing, harvesting or any of the phases of his work represents his deeds. When successful in the dream, it means that his business will succeed in real life. When it indicates business in the dream, it means prosperity and when it suggests one's deeds, it means repentance. Staff If it is made from a branch of a plum tree in a dream, it means religious hypocrisy. A staff in a dream also could represent a snake or sorcery. Hitting someone with a staff in a dream means using harsh language with him. If a poor person hits a rock with his staff, and if water gushes forth from the rock in the dream, it means prosperity. If a rich person sees such a dream, it means increase in his wealth. The water that comes out of a rock in a dream also could represent sweet earnings. Mortuary Wash-House The mortuary wash-house is a merchant and a philanthropist who saves scores of people from worries. It could also refer to an honest man who brings back to the right path many people who had gone astray or were misleading others.
• Washing a dead person: Will help an irreligious person repent.
• A dead person washing himself: Those he left behind will have no more worries and see their money increase.
• Seeing people requesting the washing of a corpse but failing to find it: The one seen dead has committed plenty of sins; people are trying to bring him back to his senses, but he pays no heed.
