Inkwell To buy an inkwell in a dream means that one's marriage will see no happiness since one's writing pen comes out of it with ink only. An inkwell in a dream also means ulcer. The pen represents iron (See Iron), and the ink means time. If one sees a section of his body transformed into an inkwell, whereby he can draw ink from it and write in a notebook in the dream, it means that he will receive an inheritance. An inkwell in a dream also means medicine. If one is sick, then seeing an inkwell in a dream also means finding the right medicine and, Allah willing, one will be cured from his illness. Bird The unknown bird symbolizes the Archangel of Death; a traveller; labour; or a man’s actions or deeds. Big and ferocious or rapacious birds are the kings, chiefs, prominent people, scholars, and rich people or those who make a good living. Waterbirds represent the nobles who hold two posts at a time, since these birds do as they like in the water and in the air. They could also symbolize people who travel by land and by sea. Dreaming of them is better than dreaming of any other species, because they have an easier livelihood and are less rapacious. Singing birds or those that wail simply refer to singers. Small birds are the young boys.

Gillyflower The gillyflower, or garden stock, whose Arabic name, manthoor, means “scattered” or “sprinkled,” symbolizes the death of a child; joy; a post or a trade that will not last; or a woman who will part from the dreamer. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Ring • Taking a gold ring from the Lord: Bad omen. Similarly bad are rings made of iron, the latter being the ornament of those who reside in Hell, and rings made of copper whose name in Arabic is nahhas, from nahs, meaning “bad luck” or “a jinx.” One more reason, adds Ibn Siren, is that copper is the metal used in manufacturing the rings of the jinn.
• Taking a silver ring from the Holy Prophet or from a religious scholar: The dreamer will acquire learning. In case the ring was made of silver, iron, or copper, the dream would have a very negative interpretation.
• Wearing a ring: Renewal of what the ring refers to, depending on its alloy or composition.

A Dream Of A Believer Is One Of Forty-Six Parts Of Prophetism Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said, "When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophetism, and whatever belongs to prothetism can never be false." Muhammad bin Sirin said, "But I say this." He said, "It used to be said, 'There are three types of dreams: The reflection of one's thoughts and experiences one has during wakefulness, what is suggested by Satan to frighten the dreamer, or glad tidings from Allah. So, if someone has a dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to others, but get up and offer a prayer." He added, "He (Abu Huraira) hated to see a Ghul (i.e., iron collar around his neck in a dream) and people liked to see fetters (on their feet in a dream). Ring Wearing a ring with a carnelian-red stone in a dream means an end to one's poverty. If a pious person, a religious person or an ascetic receives a silver ring from Allah Almighty in a dream, it means his salvation on the Day of Judgment. If he receives a silver ring from Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) in a dream, it represents a gift of a greater knowledge. If it is gold, iron, or copper, then it has negative consequences, because iron rings represent the chains of the dwellers of hell-fire. Somehow, to wear a simple band in one's dream is better than wearing a heavy ring. Heavy rings in a dream also may connote an assassination or deceit. Sword • Finding the sword too heavy and dragging it on the ground: Influence will wane.
• The supports of the sword breaking or being cut: Will be deposed or isolated.
• Giving or taking the blade of a sword from one’s wife: She will give birth to a male child.
• The wife giving her husband a sword in its sheath: She will deliver a boy.
• Handing one’s wife a sword in its sheath: She will give birth to a girl.
• Being girded with four swords, One made of iron, one made of brass or bronze, one made of lead, and one made of wood: Will have four male children. The iron symbolizes a courageous boy, the bronze a lucky boy who will become rich, the lead an effeminate boy, and the wood a hypocrite.

Smelting Gold, Silver Etc. If a person sees himself in the act of melting gold, silver, iron or lead and casting any of them into any form such as coins, it means he will become the subject of people's slandering and backbiting. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Vegetable Most dream interpreters do not like vegetables or legumes, pulses, and similar herbs on the ground that they contain no fats and are not even sweet. They regard them as passing trade, a hazy post, or a child or money that is not destined to survive. According to them, vegetables also symbolize transient sorrow and worries. Walk Conversely, walking barefoot for a man could also mean trouble and weariness, divorce, or the death of his wife, unless he sees himself taking away his shoes or sandals to walk more freely. In the latter case, it means that he will get a high post or become a governor.
• Travelling barefoot: The dreamer will contract a debt he will not be able to settle.

Guard Dreaming of being guarded by someone else or surrounded by many means: (1) Things will go wrong as obstacles or complications will surge and matters will ultimately be stalled. (2) The dreamer will be ill. (3) Paradoxically, if the dreamer is facing hardships, relief will come. It could also mean a high post, influence, prosperity, and the end of fear for the one who is being protected. Coffin Or Ark Among other things, the coffin symbolizes a man’s wife or shop. The better it looks, the better they would look.
• Being carried in a coffin: A high post or promotion inasmuch as the coffin was carried high or a successful sea or land journey. (The Arabic word for coffin is naash, coming from naasha, to lift up, revive.)
• Seeing a new coffin: Prestige and prosperity.

Ant Many ants symbolize soldiers, progeny, money, or long life. Conversely, they also allude to a weak and careful person. Seen on a bed, they represent children.
• Seeing an ant or ants is a reference to: (1) The dreamer himself. (2) Relatives. (3) Death of a patient.
• Ants coming out of their hole: Trouble and worries.

Jinn - Or Djinn • A person dreaming that a jinn is standing behind him: His enemies will have the upper hand.
• Dreaming that you are controlling a jinn, who obeys you: Dignity and the highest post.
• Tying up a jinn: Will triumph over the enemy.
• Falling captive in the hands of the jinn: Scandals.

Eavesdropping In a dream, eavesdropping means backbiting and lies. Perhaps the one who is eavesdropping on others may become despised by the ruler or his superior. On the other hand, if one sees himself in a dream inadvertently listening to a conversation, and if the one seeing the dream is a merchant, it means that he will resign from the leadership of his business, and if he is a ruler, it means that he will be removed from his post. Maqam Ibrahim (The Station Of Abraham, Near The Kabah In Mecca (Makkah) The Quran says: “The First House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka (Mecca (Makkah)): Full of blessings and of guidance for all kinds of beings. In it are Signs manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God” (“Al-Imran” [The Imran Family], verses 96–97.)

Pearl • Getting plenty of pearls from the sea or riverbed: Honest money obtained from kings and their like.
• A plethora of pearls: (1) Inheritance. (2) A province or a senior post to be granted to the dreamer. (3) More knowledge for the erudite. (4) Profit for the merchant.
• Seeing heaps of pearls and being under the impression that you have just picked them out of the sea: Will strike it rich, in an honest way, from the kings treasures.
• Heaps of pearls carried in tied-up sacks: Sorrow.
