Incident - Angel Writing Four Times It is related that Al-Mustanjid Billah son of Al-Muqtafi saw during his father's life a dream in which an angel descended and wrote four times the Arabic letter 'H' in the palm of his hand. When Al-Mustanjid woke up, he told the dream to an interpreter who replied: "You will receive the Caliphate from your father in the year five hundred fifty-five, and already five months and five days have passed." Write (Jot down; Scribble; Writing) Writing in a dream signifies a trick, a gimmick or a conspiracy. A writer in a dream represents a cunning and a fraudulent person. If one's handwriting looks illegible, or inelegant in the dream, it means that he will repent for dishonesty and from defrauding people. Writing on a scroll or on a legal pad in a dream means that one may receive an inheritance. Writing in a notebook in a dream means dodging, or repudiation. Writing a novel or a book in a dream means receiving unlawful money, or it could mean falling sick. Record keepers (Angels; Spiritual) Representing the heedful angels in charge of guarding the writings of the Preserved Tablets, and the heavenly beings or scribes in charge of recording peoples deeds. Write If he fails to complete his book or his letter in the dream, it means that something will hamper , or stand in the way of completing his project. Writing with the left hand in a dream means indulging in loathsome actions, going astray, or perhaps having a son who is born from adultery, or it could mean that one may become a poet. Signing a deed, a check or a legal contract in a dream means failing to fulfill an agreement. If one sees someone he knows drafting a contract between them in a dream, it means that the other person will defraud him, mislead him in a business deal and drive him astray. Arrows In a dream, arrows mean messages, a messenger, writings, victory over one's enemy. If a woman sees her husband's arrows in their quiver in a dream, it means that her husband has turned away from her. Arrows in a dream also are an indicator or a guide. Seeing an arrow outside its quiver, means failure to perform one's duty or inability to deliver one's message. Shooting arrows in a dream means writing letters. If one shoots an arrow but fails to hit his target in the dream, it means that he will send a messenger to do something and his messenger will fail to deliver. If one sees a woman shooting him with an arrow in a dream, it means that she is showing kindness toward him and consequently he may fall in love with her, or he may marry her. Paper (Notebook; Record; Parchment) A sheet of paper in a dream represents an oath, a vow, or a pledge. Writing a note on a piece of paper in a dream means being ungrateful and perfidious toward others. A writer in a dream also represents someone who is burdened, pressured, doubtful and uncertain, whereby, writing has become his escape goat and a way out of his depression. Screeching of a pen The screeching sound of a pen in a dream represents a writer, or writing on paper, or writing on a chalkboard. Such screeching in a dream also could represent the chalkboard itself, or teachers of various grades. Naked (Also see Pudenda.) Certain contradictions exist in this area.
• Being naked: (1) Clear conscience. (2) More piety and good deeds. (3) Will become a pilgrim. (4) Will be found innocent. (5) Some deed that the dreamer will regret. (g) Relief from worries. (7) Divorce. (8) Death of the wife.
• Taking off one’s clothes: The emergence of an enemy who conceals his animosity and poses as a friend and a good counsellor.
• Seeing oneself naked in an assembly: Will have a scandal.
• Being naked in a place where there is nobody else: The dreamer’s enemy is trying to bring him down by unveiling his secrets, but to no avail.

Painter (Artist; Illustrator) In a dream, a painter represents knowledge, architecture, wisdom, writing poems, writing love songs or telling lies. A painter in a dream also represents someone who conceals his acts, or hides his true face. He also could represent alcoholism, falling in love, marriage, or having children. Some of the painter's works are beneficial while others are harmful. All depending on the quality of his work, its objectives, balance, resemblance to the object painted and authenticity. Barley Buying barley from its distributor in a dream means receiving a great wealth or an inheritance, though one must pay its due alms tax and charities. If one sees himself planting barley in a dream, it means that he will engage in doing a good deed that will please Allah Almighty. Walking through barley fields in his dream means that one will be blessed with the opportunity to participate in a holy war. Farming barley fields in a dream represents people's deeds. If one plants barley in a dream, it means that he will prosper from his business or from governing, or that he will receive an endowment from someone in authority. Write If one finds himself illiterate and incapable of writing in a dream, it means that he is depressed, though Allah Almighty will show him a way out of his difficulties. If an illiterate person sees himself trying to learn how to write and read in a dream, it means that he will benefit from something he feared for a long time, or it could mean that he will go through hard times. If a learned person finds himself incapable of writing anything in a dream, it means depression, fear, toiling and obstruction of his business. Quran • Stealing a Holy Quran: The dreamer will forget prayer.
• Holding a book or a Mushaf and opening it to find its pages blank: Appearances are deceitful or tricky.
• Eating a Mushaf or the pages of a Mushaf: The dreamer is taking money to transcribe the pages of the Holy Book, which is an illicit or immoral gain.
• Kissing the Mushaf: No shortcomings in discharging the dreamer’s duties.
• Writing Quranic texts in porcelain or mother-of-pearl or on a dress: The dreamer is interpreting the Quran the way he likes.
• Writing the Quran on the ground: The dreamer is an atheist.

Marble If one sees gravestones made of marble, or if one sees marble pillars in a dream, it means a good reward for one's deeds, or it could mean eulogy, or lauding. An architecturally sound edifice made from marble in a dream represents good writing, skilfulness, dowry or a generous prenuptial agreement. If the marble is used excessively in the dream, it means suspicion and doubt about one's resources or source of income. The marble bases of a pillar in a dream represents social benefits. As for marble tiles in a dream, they represent beautiful and noble women, or dignitaries. As for marble jars, tiles, or basins in a dream, they represent the positive and negative effects one overlooks during the course of this life. Farmer A farmer in a dream represents a man of good deeds. His planting, plowing, harvesting or any of the phases of his work represents his deeds. When successful in the dream, it means that his business will succeed in real life. When it indicates business in the dream, it means prosperity and when it suggests one's deeds, it means repentance. Divine Throne (The Glorious Throne of Allah Almighty.) Seeing the Divine Throne of Allah Almighty in its perfect form means blessings, glad tidings and correctness of one's faith. If one sees the Divine Throne missing one of its attributes in a dream, it means heedlessness and innovation. Seeing the Glorious Throne of Allah Almighty in a dream may entail whatever good or evil destiny one may go through. Seeing the Divine Throne in a dream also means receiving a high ranking position or assuming a noble function, if one qualifies, or it could represent one's wife, house, vehicle, victory over his enemy, writing poems, or doing good deeds for the one who sees it in its perfect, radiant and glorious manifestation.
