Seeing “selling and buying furniture”
in your dream

Reading from the Holy Book before Allah's Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, in a dream means that one will commit himself to memorizing it. Eating the pages of the Holy Book in a dream means accepting bribes. If a layman eats the pages of the Holy Book, or few lines from some pages in a dream, it means that he earns his livelihood from reciting the Holy Quran or teaching it. Eating the pages of the Holy Book in a dream also means earning one's livelihood from copying and selling it. Seeing the Holy Book in a dream also mans growing in wisdom.

Stones of a structure or on the ground symbolize the dead, the ignorant, the idle, and the atheists. Arab wise men used to describe the people of the pre-Islamic era as stones.

• Turning into stone: Will disobey God and lose faith, have a stone heart, or become crippled.

• Seizing, buying, or standing on stones: Will triumph over a man or marry a woman showing similarities to such a stone.

• Stones falling from the sky: Calamities brought about by a tyrant. Removing stones or mountains: Is attempting something difficult.

• Hitting a stone with a stick to see water coming out of it: Will get rich. If already wealthy, will become richer.

A black mattress in the dream represents a woman who is engaged in doing something for other than Allah's pleasure. Buying a new and a beautiful looking mattress in a dream means marriage to a chaste and a beautiful woman. If the new mattress is torn or damaged in the dream, it means living with an impious woman. Changing the place of one's bed in a dream means divorce. If one finds himself unable to sleep on his bed in a dream, it means that he cannot have marital relationship with his wife, or perhaps he could be suffering from impotence.

Seeing the moon in the position of Scorpio in a dream means benefits for health oriented people, or for buying new clothing, though it also could connote negative results for travellers. Seeing the moon in the position of Sagittarius in a dream means bad time for planting or seedling. Seeing it coupled with Capricorn in a dream is a bad sign for construction or laying a foundation to a structure, or for starting a business. Seeing the moon in the position of Aquarius in a dream means bad time for sending messages or engaging in any enterprise.

Buying a container of ice during a hot weather in a dream means profits that will bring financial stability to one's family, or hearing good news that will comfort and cool one's heart. Winter's ice in a dream means washing away one's difficulties and trouble. It also means forcing one's conditions upon his opponents. A snowstorm that culminates in icy roads, freezing and impeding the traffic in a dream means economic depression and slowing of the travel industry. Ice in a dream also represents men's endurance. Filling a pot of water to make ice in a dream means saving money, or locking a coffer.

If one's waistband becomes a snake in the dream, it means enmity with his brother in-law. If his waistband is drenched in blood in the dream, it means that he may get killed because of his wife, or that he may conspire to kill his wife. Wearing a belt in a dream also represents bundles of money one carries, or an unanticipated misfortune he may attract. • A well-done grilled arm: Gains made by cheating on a woman. If it was underdone, it would mean absence.

• Buying a piece of grilled meat: Will hire someone.

• Eating grilled or cooked meat:  (1) Gains, the hard way.  (2) Fears, worries, and sorrow. 
(3) Illicit gains.

• A human being getting grilled: That person will be robbed or his life taken.

• Grilling a ram: Will fall sick and be jailed or tortured by the ruler.

• Grilling a ewe: Wife, mother, or any other female relative will be ill.

• Grilling a sheep or a kid  (baby goat): Son or slave will contract smallpox or a similar disease.

Carving a bow in a dream means preparing to get married or begetting a son. Shooting an arrow and hitting one's target in a dream means fulfilling one's needs, or attaining one's goal. Selling one's bow and arrows in a dream means giving priority to one's religious life over that of his mundane one. Shooting hazelnuts in a town in a dream means backbiting people, while shooting hazelnuts in the forest means earning lawful money from hunting. Shooting arrows in front of the city hall in a dream means backbiting or slandering others. Shooting a pigeon in a dream means slandering one's own wife. (Book of records; Cat; Reckoning; Siamese cat; Thief) In a dream, a tomcat means a thief or a servant. A cat in a dream also represents an evil and a treacherous woman. The same interpretation is given for anyone who compasses people, or guards them, or someone who harms the interests of his employer more than he benefits him. If a tomcat scratches someone or bites him in a dream, it means that he will fall sick for a full year. The bite of a wildcat in a dream is more dangerous and has greater implications. If one sees a tomcat sitting peacefully and quietly in his house in a dream, it means that he will have a comfortable, peaceful and a profitable year. Otherwise, a large wildcat in the dream represents a troublesome year. Selling a tomcat in a dream means spending one's money in various charities.

The same interpretation is given if one sees feathers growing over his body. If poisonous weeds grow over one's body in a dream, they represent an illness or death. As grass is cattle's food and cattle represents people's wealth, then gathering and eating grass in a dream means prosperity. If an ascetic sees himself eating grass in a dream, it means that he will revert to desiring the world and its pleasures, and consequently, he will be deceived by it. Wild grass in a dream represent bad earnings and a miserable life. (Rock) A discarded stone in a dream represents a dead person. It could also represent people with hardened hearts, heedless, or jobless people. It is common among the people of knowledge to describe an ignorant person as a stone. Owning a precious stone in a dream could mean buying one in wakefulness, or it may mean gaining a strong foothold over someone of the same caliber, or it could mean a marriage to a compatible person. If one sees himself petrified in a dream, it means that he disobeys his Lord, in that sense, if he is sick, it means that he may die from his illness, or he may be inflicted with a stroke that will leave him paralyzed.

If one sees a Holy Book sitting in his lap, then if a chick comes and picks all the words written therein in a dream, it means that one will beget a child who will memorize and read the Holy Quran as an inheritance, and benefit from the piety of his father, and as a trust, a lawful earning and a source of strength in his life. Buying a copy of the Holy Book in dream means benefits, prosperity and becoming a renowned and a distinguished religious scholar. If the Holy Book is snatched away from someone's hands in a dream, it means that he will lose his knowledge, or perhaps lose his employment.

When a pitcher is highly priced in a dream, it denotes the high rank of the one who is interested in buying it. A pitcher in a dream also means playfulness, joy or laughter. A glass pitcher in a dream represents one's wife, marriage to a rich and a beautiful woman, a secret affair, or a friend one is proud to have. A glass pitcher in a dream also represents a spouse who cannot be trusted with a secret, or someone who is never content to be married or to have children. A pitcher in a dream also represents a prostitute, or a neighboring woman who is crafty and unflinching. (Also see Urn)

A mare in a dream represents a noble woman. If one sees himself riding a mare in a dream, it means that he may rape a chaste and a noble woman. In general, a mare in a dream represents people who are known for their honesty and good conduct. Buying a mare in a dream also means getting married. If one is already married, then it means that he will own a property or a farm.

The shoe, sandal, sole, et cetera, symbolizes:  (1) A wife or a pious woman. 
(2) A boy.  (3) A friend.  (4) A partner.  (5) An animal. 
(6) A journey.  (7) A brother.

• Buying a pair of shoes without using them: Will buy a slave girl or marry a free woman whose color or character will be as reflected by the color of the shoes. 
(1) Green shoes: The woman will be religious and virtuous.  (2) Black shoes: She will be rich. 
(3) Yellow shoes: She will be ill.  (4) Red shoes: She will be coquettish, always busy with her makeup, adornment, et cetera.

• Shoes with a silver sole: A free and beautiful woman.

A broken back in a dream means fear, distress and sorrow. If one sees his rear side dark in color, black or red in a dream, it means that he may suffer from physical abuse and beating during a fight. Seeing one's own back in a dream also could mean buying new clothing, or it could mean feeling strong because of one's knowledge, his son, power, political connections, wealth or property. Seeing one's back in a dream also could mean to repudiate one's wife. If one's back is seared or cauterized in a dream, it denotes stinginess, or it could mean that he fails to comply with Allah's rights upon him. If one sees his back bent in a dream, it means a misfortune.

(Cucumber; Large cucumber; Squirting cucumber) Seeing or eating the large variety of cucumber known as snake-cucumber in a dream means blessed money, a good business, or buying a new property. On the other hand, a snake-cucumber in a dream may represent money that does not remain long in one's hand. If a woman sees a snake-cucumber in a dream, it means that she is pregnant. • Shedding blood after being scratched by a cat or losing an eye to its claws: Beware of an implacable enemy!

• Selling a cat: The dreamer will spend his money.

• Eating cat meat: Will learn magic.

• Turning into a cat: Will earn one’s living through illicit practices and theft.

• A cat entering one’s house: A robber will break in. Whatever is taken away by the cat will be stolen by the burglar.

• Acquiring cat meat or grease: Will get money from a thief or obtain something stolen.

• Fighting a cat that bites or scratches the dreamer in the process: Long illness or deep trouble followed by relief. If the cat was overwhelmed, recovery will come faster. The reverse is also true.

• A cat and a mouse getting along with each other, as in the case of the wolf and the sheep: 
(1) Hypocrisy.  (2) No more fear of the enemy.  (3) The ruler will be just to his subjects. 
(4) The world will turn upside-down.

• Seeing a civet cat: A man of contradictions, combining high virtue and an evil character.

• The one who grills meat:  (1) A tutor or educator of young princes, free children, and young girls or female slaves. He teaches them a profession or a craft. 
(2) A surgeon.  (3) A troublemaker and an antagonist.  (4) A torturer using wooden, iron, and other infernal devices. 
(5) A looter.  (6) One who takes people’s lives.  (7) The one who captures girls and women as war booty.

• Going to the cook of grilled meat to buy a well-done steak or the like: The dreamer will hand over his son to a tutor to teach and educate him.

• Buying grilled meat for a sum of money: Will hire a boy or a girl brought up by a man of letters or a shrewd merchant, who will obey and act according to the dreamer’s will.

• Seeing raw meat without eating it: Plenty of pain and disease. Buying it from the butcher means tragedy.

• Tender meat: Death or absence.

• Beef: Trouble, lack of business, or unemployment.

• Meat from a thin, unhealthy, yellow cow: Disease, shrinking wealth.

• Snake meat: Money from an enemy. Eating it raw means the enemy will be absent.

• Lion meat: Money from the sultan  (ruler or supreme authority in one’s place).

• Meat of rapacious birds: Money earned by committing sins.
