Having long fingernails for someone who needs them for his or her work in a dream means prosperity. Long fingernails in a dream also mean a trend that opposes what is common and practical. Long fingernails in a dream also mean strength, power and protection from one's enemy. Long fingernails in a dream also denote shame. Losing one's fingernails to a sickness in a dream means losing one's wealth, or reaching a dead end. Clipping one's fingernails in a dream means following the common norms, lending money, or collecting gold jewelry.

If a woman sees herself wearing a pair of silver earrings in a dream, it means that she will conceive a son who will grow to be a pious man. If they are made from pearls, then her future son will sing with music. As for an unmarried woman, wearing a pair of earrings in a dream means marriage. If one sees a child wearing a pair of earrings in a dream, it represents beauty, though it is not praiseworthy if an adult or a man is seen in a dream wearing a pair of earrings or even a single earring. In their case, it means engaging in a loathsome and disgraceful action. Wearing a pair of earrings in a dream also means acquiring a knowledge that exalts the person and raises him in station. If a mother who has a son sees herself getting married in a dream, it means that she will marry off her son. In general, the marriage of a married woman, or of an unwed woman in a dream means benefits. If a woman marries a deceased man in a dream, it means that she will become lost and impoverished.

If he is a man of knowledge, it means that he lies or hides his true knowledge, abstains from giving true advice, or perhaps he offers a poor quality of worship. If the one reciting the incantation in the dream is a judge, it means that he will give a wrong judgement. If one is given to drink some water over which specific prayers were recited in a dream, it means longevity. If one sees himself reciting an incantation, or if he hears incantations recited on his behalf in a dream, it will all be false except for a prayer that recites; In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate or contains a Quranic revelation.

The well symbolizes the patriarch of the family, in view of its importance, or the dreamer’s wife, because he sends his bucket and rope dangling in it. Likewise, it contains water, like a childbearing woman. Besides, the word for well is feminine in Arabic. It could also refer to everyone or everything useful in the house. When it refers to a woman, it is usually a smiling and optimistic one.

• A sick person falling in an unknown well: Will die.

• Getting water from an unknown well: Wife will give birth to a boy in view of the Quranic verse: “And there came a caravan, and they sent their water-drawer. He let down his pail 
(into the pit). He said: Good luck! Here is a youth. And they hid him as a treasure, and Allah was aware of what they did.” 
(“Yusuf” [Joseph], verse 19.)

In a dream, an engraver also means deception, trickery and imposing credulity upon others through dishonesty. A stone carver in a dream represents someone who deals with people of ignorance. A copper engraver represents disputes and illness. Gold and silver engraver in a dream represents clear wisdom and putting things where they belong. An engraver in a dream also represents a worldly person. If he also deals with fabrics in the dream, it means that he is a peacemaker. Seeing him also means spending one's money to serve evil people or investing money in their projects, lies, falsehood and hypocrisy.

• Sodomizing a dead man or a woman dreaming that a dead person had made love to her: Benefits from an undesirable source, the same as the dead are undesirable sex partners.

• Sodomizing an identified dead man: Will do something good in memory of the latter, such as offering prayers, et cetera.

• Having incestuous sex or making love to a prohibited dead relation: Again, will pray for, give alms in memory of, or visit that relative’s grave.

• Turning into a deer, a buck, or a gazelle: Will enjoy the delights of this world.

• Capturing a gazelle: Inheritance and abundant means.

• Owning a gazelle: God will bless the money the dreamer earns, and he will marry a noble girl.

• Introducing a gazelle in one’s house:  (1) If the dreamer is a man: Will marry his daughter to a good person. 
(2) If the dreamer is a pregnant woman: Will give birth to a boy.

• Eating venison: Will obtain money from a pretty woman.

• Obtaining a fawn: Will have a boy from a beautiful girl.

• Taking a gold ring from the Lord: Bad omen. Similarly bad are rings made of iron, the latter being the ornament of those who reside in Hell, and rings made of copper whose name in Arabic is nahhas, from nahs, meaning “bad luck” or “a jinx.” One more reason, adds Ibn
Siren, is that copper is the metal used in manufacturing the rings of the jinn.

• Taking a silver ring from the Holy Prophet or from a religious scholar: The dreamer will acquire learning. In case the ring was made of silver, iron, or copper, the dream would have a very negative interpretation.

• Wearing a ring: Renewal of what the ring refers to, depending on its alloy or composition.

• Wearing a silver ring: Nothing will stand in the dreamer’s way.

If one is given a knife as a gift in a dream, it means that he will beget a son, or have a new brother. If one is not expecting a son or a brother, then it means that he will receive money or an inheritance. Cutting one's hand with a knife in a dream means that one will see wonders. Sheathing a knife in a dream means getting married. If one is married, and if his wife is pregnant, then it means that she will beget a boy, unless if what she carries with her in the dream is more suited for a girl, then it means that she will give birth to a baby girl.

If an unmarried woman sees herself carrying a coronet of narcissus in a dream, it means a short lived marriage that will end either in divorce or in the death of her husband. According to Ibn Siren, the mucus from the nose symbolizes the making of children, in view of the popular belief that the cat emanated from the lion’s snot.

• Having mucus in the nose: Wife is pregnant.

• Blowing one’s nose:  (1) Will settle debts.  (2) Will be relieved from a certain worry. 
(3) Will punish some people for a certain deed.

• Putting snot on the ground: Will have a daughter.

• Putting snots on one’s wife: She will conceive a male child but have a miscarriage.

• The wife putting snots on the dreamer:  (1) She will give birth to a boy. 
(2) She will terminate the breast-feeding of a small child.

• One’s hands becoming those of a sultan: Will wield power and influence and behave like that sultan, be he fair or unfair.

• An ailment in the hand: Brothers are facing difficulties.

• Being handless: Will demand money, which will come.

• Shaking hands with a Muslim who withdraws his hand: You will entrust him with something, but he will fail you.

• The hand being severed:  (1) The dreamer will give up something he was doing or resign his job. 
(2) The dreamer will change profession.  (3) The dreamer will somehow part from a friend or an associate.

• The hand being severed by a known person:  (1) The dreamer will obtain five thousand currency notes or coins from that person. 
(2) That person will help the dreamer refrain from something bad he is doing.

• A kind of snake coming out of one’s anus: Estranged children.

• A snake coming out of the dreamer’s collar or anus and going into the earth: The dreamer’s time is over.

• A snake coming out of the dreamer’s ear, belly, vagina, or anus: Will commit a sin and give up religious faith or the dreamer’s children might turn inimical.

• According to Is Haq Ibrahim ibn Abdullah Al-Kirmani, another authority on dreams quoted by Ibn Shaheen, the sight of the anus augurs well for the dreamer. More, if a nice smell is coming out of the anus, it means that people are praising the hero of the dream. The reverse is also true.

Cucumbers and snake cucumbers represent worries and sorrow. However, in the right season they could allude to blessings and benefits; otherwise they mean disease. A dream of cutting a cucumber with an iron implement is good for someone who is ill. Snake cucumber, in particular, is an allusion to the pregnancy of the dreamer’s wife. Green mallow, which is a kind of cucumber, refers to a child who resembles his father or mother.

• Eating cucumber or snake cucumber: The dreamer is running after a matter that will overburden him, especially if it was yellow.

• A man whose wife is pregnant dreaming of eating cucumber or snake cucumber: She will give birth to a girl.

If a married person sees himself catching a male partridge in a dream, it means that he will beget a blessed son. If a pregnant woman catches a partridge in a dream, it means that she will give birth to a daughter. Slaughtering a partridge in a dream means committing adultery. Driving or pushing a partridge in a dream means rebuking a woman. Owning a partridge in a dream means marrying an Asiatic or a Persian woman, or meeting with a wealthy woman, or marrying a woman who will betray him and bring no benefits to him.

• Picking, gathering, owning, or eating apples: Success in the dreamer’s field. Sweet apples mean honest gains. Sour ones represent sinful earnings.

• Eating an apple: Eating up money in a way as to become the talk of the town.

• Picking an apple: Will obtain money and praise from an honest man.

• Smelling an apple in a mosque: Will get married.

• A woman smelling an apple in a party or at an orgy: Will become the center of a scandal.

• A woman eating an apple in a place she knows: Will give birth to a good boy.

Dye, in general, means respectability and that the dreamer is either secure from poverty or concealing it.

• Dying one’s beard with henna—lawsonia: The dreamer follows in the footsteps of the Muslims  Holy Prophet.

• Dying one’s hair but not the beard: The dreamer guards the secrets of his head 
(chief).

• Dying both the hair and the beard: The dreamer is concealing his poverty and asking people to give him power.

• If the dye sticks to the hair: Prestige will be restored, but only for a while, and the dreamer will display his contentment. However, he will ultimately be uncovered.

• Dying with mud or gypsum  (plaster of Paris): Will ask for money and be humiliated publicly for such a request.
