Digging Dream Explanation — (Excavate) Digging the earth in a dream means profits equal to the measure of earth one piles-up if the dirt is dry. However, if the ground is wet in the dream, it means deceiving someone else in a business venture, whereby, he gains nothing from it but headache and exhaustion equal to the amount of earth he piles-up. The digger's plot also may backfire. If a sick person or if someone in his household who is sick sees himself digging the earth in a dream, it could mean digging a grave. If a business traveller sees himself digging the earth, it represents his travels and the dirt he gathers represent his profits. Digging a hole, a water well or irrigations and planning to water the plants through them in a dream means looking for a job to earn one's livelihood and to bring its benefits to his family. Incident - Abu Hanifa digging the grave of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) Dream Explanation — It is related that when Imaam Abu Hanifa (RA) was still a child, he dreamed tht he was digging the grave of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam). He related the dream to one of his tutors in the maktab. The teacher said to him: "My child, if your dream is genuine then you will follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) and you will also do great research in his Shariah". Dig Dream Explanation — o Going to a grave and digging the earth with one's nails or trying to unearth the dead: Will probe the life of the dead dwelling in that grave to follow his pattern.
o Trying to unearth one's body: The dreamer is a materialist, running after worldly matters, and will succeed only if he managed to disinter the corpse.
o An animal digging the earth or soil in one's yard with its pawns or hooves: Beware of an enemy.
o Digging with one's nails in an inappropriate place: The dreamer is after something very difficult.
o Digging a grave or a pit for oneself or somebody else: (1) Will build a house. (2) Will settle in that area.
o Digging a grave on a surface: Will live long.

Dirt in a dream represents money, but it could also mean poverty. Digging the earth in a dream means digging a grave for a sick person. Digging the earth in a dream also means a journey, and its collected dirt means profits from one's journey. If digging the earth is interpreted as seeking marriage, then the earth itself represents one's future wife. Well Dream Explanation — o Digging a well to find water in it: Will marry a wealthy woman and outsmart her because, according to Ibn Siren, digging symbolizes wickedness, deceit, fraud, trickery, et cetera. If the well is empty, the woman in question will be a poor one.
o Water flowing out of a well: Sorrow and weeping will take place in the area. If the water infiltrates the houses around, the dreamer will have money that will prove to be a curse for him.

o Digging in the grave of a holy man with one's nails: The dreamer is endeavouring to follow the path of the deceased.
o Digging in the grave of the Muslims Prophet Muhammad with one's nails: The dreamer will refresh his memory about the Sunnah (Muhammad's Tradition) and will benefit many people. Grave Dream Explanation — o Roaming about amid open graves: Will enter the homes of heretics or visit the jails.
o Going to a grave and digging the earth with one's nails or trying to unearth the dead: Will probe the life of the dead dwelling in that grave to follow his pattern.
o Finding a dead person alive in his grave: Will become wise and pious and achieve orderly gains.

A cemetery in a dream also represents admonition, reading the Quran, crying, reminiscence, piety, surrender to one's destiny and discarding worldly gains. A cemetery in a dream also may represent the scholars, ascetics, governors, leaders, camps or a brothel. The graves of saints or shrines in a dream signify innovation, heedlessness, intoxication, adultery, corruption and fear.
